Creativity, Innovation And Vigour On Display At Founder’s Day

Mussoorie International School, Polo Ground recently celebrated its 35th anniversary in a two-day special event organised at the school. Dhan Singh Rawat, minister in the Uttarakhand cabinet graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Shantanu Prakash, school trustee, highlighted importance of education and its inculcation with a blend of traditional values and modern outlook. “The students have smartly carved a niche for themselves. They should not only be imparted excellent education but also be given great scruple and values so they can effectively serve their nation,” he said.

The programme commenced with an exhibition that highlighted the artistic creativity of the students. They presented their skills through different art forms and put it on display at on the boards and throughout the school. Post the visit to the exhibition areas the guests were seated on the stage and the formal programme began with the address of principal Shakuntala Vashisht. She briefed the audience about the scholastic and non-scholastic achievements.

The event saw the launch of a collection of students’ composed poetry book titled ‘Alfaaz’. The junior buddies presented a play titled ‘Encore: No Winter Lasts Forever’. The evening picked momentum in tennis court where audience was delighted to hear the head girl’s speech. The dawn reached to the peak of its grandeur with a melodious orchestra presentation by the entire student community. This musical presentation was a duet of students and teachers.

 

The second day began with the welcome of the chief guest and dignitaries, followed by the principal’s address followed by felicitation of all guests. This address briefed the audience about the remarkable achievements accomplished by the school students. It was proud to share that scholars from the recent batch made their further academic enrolments into universities abroad.

The announcement of achievements was followed with a display of cultural extravaganza wherein the atmosphere of the auditorium was captivated by the dance drama presentation titled as ‘Radha Krishna’ depicting the life journey of goddess Radha. The synchronization among all the facets of this dance drama ranging from dialogue delivery, enactment, expressions, costume, makeup, stage setup, music displayed earnestly channelized efforts by the students. This astounding presentation enthralled the audience to degree that the atmosphere of the auditorium was overjoyed with incessant sound of applauds.
