Best Entrepreneurial Minds Take ‘Business Fest’ By Storm

Wynberg Allen School, Balahissar played host to the 6th inter school business festival ‘Negotium Agon’. The entrepreneurial fiesta played host to over 40 schools from the country and beyond. This year’s competition was organised in five categories, namely Business Quiz, Veiling (auction round), Vine video, Creation De Logo (logo designing and tag line making) and Anuncio (enactment round). St Joseph’s Academy made the most in every competition to emerge on top of the overall points tally to lift the overall trophy.

The chief guest Kartik Taneja, an alumnus graced the occasion along with guests of honour Rohit Chand Puri and Amit Jaiswal graced the occasion.

The judges Gauri Puri, Sumit Dhawan, Amit Mehra and Neha Jaiswal had a tough time marking the students in the competition. Each student came up with novel original ideas and creative means for representation of their concepts. This made it increasingly difficult for the judges in the subjective competitions to identify a clear winner. But after careful consideration the judges announced the following results in the competition:

In the Business Quiz, based on the preliminary written round, six schools qualified for the final round. The finalists were La Martiniere Boy’s College, St Joseph’s Academy, Stepping Stone High School, The Lawrance School, Shri Ram School and YPS Patiala. The team comprising Anirudh Bhatia and Achintya Sood from The Lawrance School were declared winners while the team from Shri Ram School and Stepping Stone High School, stood as 1st and 2nd runner-up, respectively.

In the Veiling event, Mrinank Chander and Samyak Jain of the Welham Boy’s School emerged winners while the team from St. Joseph’s Academy and YPS Patiala took the second and third place, respectively. Ananya Khanna of Welham Girl’s School was declared the winner in the ‘Creation De Logo’ event while the Robin Singh of Punjab Public School finished a close second.

In the Anuncio event, the first position was bagged by Model Academy followed by La Martiniere Girls College and Oak Grove School.

Wynberg-Allen participated in the competition but was not included on virtue of being the hosts of the competition. The chief guest gave away the trophies and mementoes to the winners. He also addressed the gathering and shared anecdotes on the competitive spirit put forward by all visiting schools. The award for the ‘Best Buy’ went to Punjab Public School; ‘People’s Choice Award’ went to Global International School. The students from the NPS International School, Singapore were declared the most promising team. However, the most awaited prize which was the overall winners’ trophy stayed in the city as the students of St Joseph’s Academy topped the charts with maximum points from all competitions.

The school principal Leslie Tindale thanked the organising committee, especially Roy Chowdhury for organising the event successfully. He also thanked the visiting schools for their enthusiastic participation in the business festival.
