Zaira Wasim's Message On Children's Day

She studies in class XI, Heritage School, Jammu, acted in ‘Dangal’

QTell us about yourself?

I love chocolates and watching movies! At home, we used to have movie marathons on Sundays. I think that’s where I got the movie bug. Since I was 10, I wanted to see myself in front of the camera. I would take hours getting ready in front of the mirror.

QHow did ‘Dangal’ happen? Were your parents supportive?

My parents were initially apprehensive because they thought it was a difficult profession to choose. But when I passed my first audition, they were very pleased. From then on, my family has been extremely supportive.

My first audition happened at my school. It was a chance outing and I wasn’t expecting any call from the production company. It was a dream come true for all of us.

QHow was the experience of working with superstars?

They taught me how to be grounded and never let success get the better of me.

QYour advice for other youngsters...

If you want to make it big in the glamour industry, be patient and keep up your hard work. Also, be passionate about what you want. If you have made up your mind, destiny will definitely find a way for you.

QMessage on Children's Day

Don’t lose your childhood. Everything else can wait. It’s okay to be mischievous.
