Why Books Are My Best Mates

“A book is a dream you hold in your hand” said the famous English author, Neil Gaiman.

Reading books, according to me is one of the best habits to follow. Books are the only friends who will never leave us until WE throw them (which is most unlikely to happen...). Reading books reduces your stress and provides you entertainment for hours together. In fact, a recent study reports that reading books can actually help one to live longer and reduce the risk of diseases like Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Not only that , reading a variety of books improves your vocabulary in many languages , let it be English , French or even German. Ultimately , your scores in these subjects get better hence reduces the scoldings you get from your parents (which is seriously a biiiiigggg relief).

It is very important that you don’t get addicted to just one type of books. We need to read a variety of books instead of getting stuck up with just fiction or fantasy. While I would definitely prefer to read and re-read the potters or percy jacksons any point in time, yet, the classics or the non-fiction or the newspapers are good way to expand your knowledge and vocabulary too.

So next time you want to read just don't grab the same but grab something different!

because when we see a movie we will just see the creativity and imagination of others but we too having same creativity and imagination so to improve it we must read books if we read a story book it pulls to a imaginative story and if we read a science and technology books it creates some knowledge to us so books are the best mates to us........

The best thing about books is that they allow us to explore our own paracosm without even letting us move our feet. They take our souls into a different world full of imagination, gusto, and fiction. Reading is a dead sea that swallows all the other feelings of boredom. loneliness and fatigue and yet, end up landing us in magical world.

Books are our best friends because, they always stay with us no matter what. If others hurt you, there is always a book which cools you down. Books helps you become intellectual and can also make a change in the way we think and take a certain situation. So ''A good book is equal to a good friend.''

Sumedh Chavan ST. PATRICKS HIGH SCHOOL

Yeah, reading books is really awesome... I am a bookworm and I try to spend as much as time I can to read books. I don''t like to read non-fiction, they are not my type. I have my head into fiction books all the time. I''ll try to go for the non-fictions too...
