The 7 Symptoms Of A Book Lover

It's happened way too often with you—you've preferred the scent of old books over the scent of a woman. Well, okay maybe not that far; but you get my point! You'd prefer to check out the girl reading a book than you would the girl applying lipstick. Right? Right. You're a book nerd of the highest order and on days when you're dealing with life, you prefer books more than people. Still in denial? Read the following points and then tell me you're not! I bet you.

1. Books Are Your Escape Route:
Be it an awkward situation, a person you don't want to engage with or simply life, you'd instantly bury your head in a book to avoid any sort of eye, skin or human contact. Books are your saving grace!

2. You Want To Read For A Living:
You have googled “Reading jobs that you can get paid for”. Don't deny it, no.

3. You Live In Your Book World:
Every time you open a book, you're instantly transported into the world of the protagonist. It's like a teleportation system for you.
People don't get when you're immersed in books. They don't get that you're not really there anymore.

4. You Trust A True Harry Potter Fan, Only:

Ever since Harry Potter happened to you, you can simply not live in a world where people don't get it.
So you judge people on the basis of whether or not they are a Harry Potter fan. Simple. You are either a wizard, or a muggle.

5. Your Weekend Plans Revolve Around Your Books :

You just bought a new book and you can't wait to hop into bed with a cup of hot chocolate and lose yourself in the pages.
Parties and nightlife be damned; you choose the books, any day and twice on Sundays!

6. You Prefer The Book To The Movie :
And so, you don't understand when people say they preferred the movie. Like, you idiot, did you even pick up the book?! They give you serious trust issues, they do.

7. Your Gadgets Are All About Your Books :
If you're buying a new gadget, it's either the latest Kindle or the iPad. After all, if they aren't book compatible, they aren't worth your time or money, right? Right.

Akshita Pandey LILAVATI BAI PODAR (A)-SCRUZ

All these symptoms suit but especially the 5th one. I feel that sometimes vacations can be boring as you have nothing to do, so I just take any book or start reading. I am a true Harry Potter fan. I totally live in the book world as whenever I hold an interesting book in my hand, I cannot stop reading it. I am a bibliophile. Books are my best friends.

Asmita D.A.V Public School, Thane

All the symptoms suit me but for the last one maybe. Because I wan''t to buy Kindle and all those other gadgets related to books but my parents will never, ever give me such a costly gift. When I will grow up, I will buy my own Kindle with my own money.

shubha tanaya Delhi School of Excellence Attapur

All the 4 symptoms truely suits me!!!!

Ayushi Pandey LILAVATI BAI PODAR (A)-SCRUZ

I completely agree with all the points except the last one because I don''t like reading e-books. It''s true, the world has two kinds of people- wizards or Muggles. All these points remind me so much of the bibliophilic Hermione and Emma Watson in real life. I can relate to Hermione so much! Books are a hard-bound drug with no danger of overdose. I am a happy victim of books.
