One Para Story: The Photo Frame

Once I was sitting on a couch in the waiting room of a publisher’s office, suddenly my sight fell upon that photo frame. I kept gazing on it for really long. I lost myself into it. It was an ordinary frame for space with two photographs but there was only one. Still it seemed indifferent. It was an ordinary click of a baby and a girl but something was there in it that took my heart, beyond the reaches of my mind. Just then that publisher came out for an undiscussed reason. He was a young man of 26 who noticed my keenly observing posture. He politely led me in, into his cabin. I was quite nervous, startled and purple and green… Then after we were seated he, with utmost generosity asked me, “you seemed to quite observant around that frame. What would you like to say about it?” …for a while I was numb, then I don’t know from where these words got into my mouth, “it’s a click of that baby with his sister; the blind baby !... and the other half of the frame is empty maybe because the sister was unable to get another photo or the brother, they were separated !...” These two simple sentences brought tears in his eyes. Then again with his utmost generosity he asked me for my manuscript and requested to wait for his reply till tomorrow.

Prerana Sengupta B.D.M. International

She was standing in an unfamiliar way at a once familiar place. May be she was waiting . Something caught her sight, her eyes were fixed, memories, unwanted memories came back to her once more. Her eyes blinked, looking up to heaven she saw a bird. ''If at all it could take away all these unpleasant and unwanted memories.'' , she sighed.

I like the story it has a certain message and meaning the one who can decode the last meaning hidden in last sentence will enjoy the story. According to me and what I could decode and infer from the last sentence is that the picture was related to man in some way that is why the two sentences said by narrator brought tears into his eyes.
