Latest news from the literary world

John Green's next novel, 'Turtles All the Way Down' will be published in October

Best-selling author John Green has announced that he will publish a new novel this October. Releasing on October 10, "Turtles All the Way Down" is the story of 16-year-old Aza Holmes, a young woman who grapples with mental illness while investigating the disappearance of a fugitive billionaire, reported Entertainment Weekly.
"I've been working on 'Turtles All the Way Down' for years, and I'm so excited to share it with readers this October. This is my first attempt to write directly about the kind of mental illness that has affected my life since childhood, so while the story is fictional, it is also quite personal," Green said in a statement.
"Turtles All the Way Down" comes nearly six years after the release of Green's last book and international phenomenon "The Fault in Our Stars" in 2012.

Posthumous prize for author Denis Johnson
Author and poet Denis Johnson, who died last May, will be honoured with yet another prestigious prize.
The Library of Congress announced that Denis Johnson will be the posthumous winner of its annual Prize for American Fiction, to be formally awarded on September 2, as part of the National Book Festival in Washington.
Previous recipients of this award include Marilynne Robinson, Toni Morrison, Don DeLillo, and John Grisham. Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden praised the "profound empathy" of Johnson's work, which includes the short story collection "Jesus' Son" and "Tree of Smoke," a gripping, hallucinatory novel about Vietnam that won the 2007 National Book Award.

Quote of the day

"Happiness is as exclusive as a butterfly, and you must never pursue it. If you stay very still, it may come and settle on your hand. But only briefly. Savour those moments, for they will not come in your way very often."

Ruskin Bond

I have heard a lot about John Green and have also read his famous book ''The Fault In Our Stars''. I loved the way he described the characters and the setting. He has used very good vocabulary and has just gripped the writer from the start till the end. Waiting for more John Green books.
