Bookworms Will Love These Apps

There's no greater joy for a bookworm than carrying along her favourite book wherever she goes. But that can get a bit tedious if the book is larger-than-life, not just story-wise, but also size-wise (we try to be funny sometimes). With the introduction of certain smartphone apps, reading while on the move has become a delightful experience. Also, you don't have to worry about your book being spoilt or your bag getting heavy. We have selected the four best apps that every bookworm must have, so start downloading!

Pocket: Do you love reading articles and bookmarking them for later? Pocket allows you to save articles and pages right off the web and save them for offline reading. You can also save videos so that you can watch them later. Platform: Android, iOS, Windows

Goodreads: If you've just finished reading a great book and don't know what to do with your life anymore, we've got just the right thing for you. Goodreads is like an online library that lets you explore its virtual shelves and discover new reads. Right from book reviews to recommendations, this is an app that will help you pick the next great book that you can feel happy about! Platform: Android, iOS

Audible: Audible will work perfectly for those who like a little sweetness in their ears. If you find yourself falling short of reading time, the audio books on Audible make sure you catch up on your favourite books. The best thing about this app is that you can listen to a book while you drive, do your chores, or other things. Platform: Android, iOS, Windows

Moon+ Reader: This is perhaps one of the best reading apps ever invented. A user-friendly app, it allows you to change the theme, layout, font size and colour, track pages, download e-books, and even listen to your downloaded books. Plus, you have access to a lot of free e-books, so that's a bonus!

That said though, do you think an app can replace the joy of a physical book? Or are you a technocrat who loves appls like these that ensure you can read anytime, anywhere? Tell us what you think in the comments section.

i always prefer physical book

E-books have always failed to impress me. I''ve tried wattpad, and also goodreads. But I have not managed to keep either of them for more than a day. The joy of physical reading is irreplaceable, and reading on e-books are just spoiling the joy. After all, I don''t think anyone can read peacefully with notifications buzzing on their phones!!

I think that there is no major difference between a physical book and an E-book. How does it matter when you''ve got the story , ??

Rajathariga S P AECS MAGNOLIA MARUTHI PUB SCH

The joy of reading the book, for me, is lost on e-books. There is something so awesome in holding the book and flipping through the pages, hearing the sound of the paper, rather than staring at a rigid device.

I agree with you. The pleasure of reading books is lost when we use gadgets for reading. Moreover, it causes eye problems. Therefore, it is my opinion that reading physical books gives us the real feel of reading.

Ambuja Rani Ryan International School

I prefer paper-bound books to e-books.Reading on gadgets can cause eye problems and the joy of reading is flicking through the pages. After all they are old traditions.
