BOOK REVIEW: DEVLOK WITH DEVDUTT PATTANAIK

“Every time a mother tells her child the story of Ramayana, it is her version and that is more important than Valmiki’s” DEVDUTT PATTANAIK (In ‘Devlok with Devdutt Pattanaik’)

Synopsis: It’s a book made for all mythology lovers. A perfectly written informative book which will help you get a reason for everything you have heard on done in religious terms. The book is based on a popular television show of Devdutt Pattanaik. The book gives you information about every aspect in the Hindu tradition. The book has a beautiful description of the concepts of heaven and hell, Gita, Shiv, Ganesha, Weapons, colors and many more topics. The author has thrown light up on the eternal cycle of life. As the book proceeds, it gives you detailed information about amazing facts of mythology. My take: I think the book is just amazing and even better is the language it is written in. While reading the book I came to know the essence of the power called God. The book told me that our holy scriptures are not just written texts but traditions. The book is easy to read with not many hard terminologies. This book will surely enthrall a mythology lover, but can be proved a little boring to the one not interested in mythology. At the end of this book for sure, you will carry more knowledge than information and next time you join hands before God you will remember God’s hardships...
