5 Books That Should Be On Your Vacay List

Going on a holiday? So what’s on your checklist?

The latest styles and accessories? Beauty products? Handy gadgets that you can carry along, especially a power bank and a fallback option for your DSLR? And what about the reading list? Because whether you prefer reading on your Kindle or carrying a paperback, no laidback vacation is complete without the printed word. We got you a list of bestsellers that you can download or carry along on your next vacation, no matter whether you are going:

Harry Potter And The Cursed Child
It doesn’t matter how old you are, when it comes to just about anything from the Potter series. The play—written by Jack Thorne and based on an original story by Jack Thorne, John Tiffany and JK Rowling—takes us back to the world of the much-loved boy wizard who lived. Harry is now an overworked Ministry of Magic employee with three children. The book shows Harry’s struggles with his past and his son Albus’ struggle with the family legacy. Past and present come together to reveal darkness that comes from the familiar, and unexpected.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid #11, Double Down
This series by Jeff Kinney has gotten quite popular over the years and will be a good read for your kid if you are vacationing with family. Here, we see that pressure is mounting on Greg Heffley because of his addiction to video games. His mom wants him to explore his creative side instead. Perfect to read out to that gadget-obsessed kid, don’t you think?

The Whistler
For all those who love John Grisham and look out for his legal thrillers. This one deals with what happens when judges, whose integrity is taken to be sacrosanct, bend the rules. The book is about Lacy Stotlz, an investigator for the Florida Board on Judicial Conduct, who deals with complaints related to judicial misconduct. But there’s one case that baffles her. Any more plot details would mar the experience for you.

The Alchemist
This Paulo Coelho book, which has been translated to multiple languages, has been on bestseller lists forever. This one is for those looking to ponder a bit while counting the waves or looking out at the mountains. It followed the journey of an Andalusian shepherd boy called Santiago, who feels that a dream he has been having is prophetic and sets out to discover its meaning.

The Girl On The Train
If you are one of those who prefer books to movies, the book on which the Emily Blunt-starrer was based, is just perfect. This thriller by British author Paula Hawkins is a first-person narrative told from the viewpoint of three women—Rachel, Anna and Megan. Rachel, who’s reeling from the break-up of her marriage, follows her old routine of taking the train to London every day in spite of having left her job. She watches her old house (where she lived with her husband) from the train every day. To know why it intrigues her, you’ll have to read the book.

The girl on the train would be just the book to read on a long train journey, that is, if you have the nerve to. I would also put up the book, ''The Hound Of The Baskervilles'' by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in my vacay list. That is because mystery is my favourite genre but others might also have their like, so i hope its not biased.
