7 Best Android Apps For Book Lovers

1. Goodreads

We had to make this one the first on our list. The official app for the social networking site for bookworms, Goodreads already has 40 million users on it. So whether you want to find the latest bestsellers or interact with other booklovers, this app is a must have for you.

You can read reviews of the books you want to buy, and review and rate books yourself. Furthermore, you can get information on various books by barcode scanning.

2. Wattpad
This app focuses entirely on storytelling. It gives you a choice of reading from over 75 million stories, and also lets you connect with the writers you wish to contact. With Wattpad, you can also follow a book that is still a work in progress. This lets you read it chapter by chapter, as it is being written.

That’s better than waiting for the writer to complete the entire novel. Also, if reading so much invokes the writer in you, you can use Wattpad to write your own book too.

3. Audiobooks from Audible
There are times when we are just not able to make time for sitting down to read our favourite book(s) in peace. We really want to, but there really is no time. Audible solves that problem. The app gives users the option of listening to their favourite novels on smartphones.

Doesn’t that sound like a dream come true? And considering that multi tasking is something all of us have to do no matter how much we dislike it, this app is going to come really handy.

4. Amazon Kindle
Books, magazines, newspapers from around the world, just say what you want to read, and Kindle app has it. You can read free books, buy them, as well as sync books across devices and read samples from various books on the app.

Kindle for Android also has a built-in dictionary using which one can look for meanings of words on Google and Wikipedia.

In a nutshell, if you are an avid reader you need to have Kindle installed on your phone.

5. Pocket
If you love to read, you will often find yourself reading up articles or e-books on the internet when you are supposed to be doing something else. Sounds relatable? Pocket has a solution for you. With Pocket app, you can save any articles you find interesting on the internet and read them later.

Besides articles, you can also save videos and webpages for accessing later. And what makes us love Pocket even more is that it supports offline content reading.

6. OverDrive
OverDrive lets you access over 30,000 public libraries worldwide. You can search for your local library on the app and borrow ebooks, audiobooks, and videos from various
catalogues.

7. Google Play Books
How can we not mention Google’s own app for readers in our list? Google Play Books gives you an option of choosing from millions of books, and reading them both offline and online. You can also bookmark pages, highlight texts, and add notes to the books you are reading.

Furthermore, you can customize your reading experience by choosing from a variety of fonts and layouts for the books you wish to read. You can listen to books too, if the publisher of the book you are reading allows the same.
