Tell Us: Does India Lack Death Bowlers?

Roston Chase became the third West Indian to score a hundred and pick up a five-wicket haul in the same match, but more importantly, managed to draw the match with India. Does India lack death bowlers?

"I feel India does lack bowlers who can prove to be the heroes of the match in the final overs as seen during the various world cups, as only foreign bowlers are preferred in the IPL matches to bowl the death overs. Death bowlers have the ability to change the game. This situation needs to improve as it might prove to be the crack in the ship."
Neil Vora, class IX, Greenlawns School, Mumbai

"We have not been able to get a good strike bowler, especially for the death overs. We are lacking consistency in terms of death bowling. I think it is something which is important for Indian cricket team captain and the Indian cricket council to think and work on, as it can prove disastrous for our team."
Nihal Jani, class IX, Sakar School, Ahmedabad

Death Bowling has always been a concern for India''s bowling. An experienced bowler who can do well with the old ball is what Indian Cricket team looking for.The concern that arises here is that the Indian has no such bowler who is perfect for bowling with the old bowl . Even bowlers like R Ashwin have bad figures when it comes to death bowling. So death bowling is definitely a major concern for Indian team.

India have quality bowlers but they much with the ball only with the new ball. With the old ball if spinners are not successful India falls in trouble as our seamers are easy to play at the death. Our problem with fast bowlers is who have pace they donot bowl at right areas but who have less pace they bowl at right areas but they can be easily read with lot of time to react for the batsman.

Yes, India is lacking death bowlers because Indian coaches are trying that Indian bowlers should take wickets in beginning overs but at the time death overs they loose their patience and becomes expensive. Sometimes they are not able to take wickets in beginning overs. So, according to me India lacking very much of death bowlers.

India''s bowlers have skills to make the batsman tremble, but they are not executing it properly in the death overs...else why will the figures be good, but the death overseas are a problem.
