Should There Be A River Survey In Ganga?

It’s a good thing that the Indian government is showing concern for aquatic creatures in the Ganga. It is an important step towards restoring ecological balance and conserving rare species like the Gangetic dolphins. It is indeed a commendable move.

The survey will make data pertaining to the deteriorating quality of Ganges available. Knowing about the extent of threat to endangered species and their habitat will allow suitable measures to be taken in order to improve the water quality and remove possible threats to marine species.

Tanya Singh, class XI, Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh

The move to conduct a survey is indeed a commendable effort on the part of the concerned authorities. With humans polluting water bodies, marine life is under threat of extinction. But those conducting surveys should ensure that they don’t disturb the aquatic animals in their natural habitat.

The survey will help in conserving marine organisms in the Ganga river and restore their number. It will increase awareness and control disposal of garbage in the river.

The survey by all means must avoid the industries to dump untreated waste inside the river. The Survey must also educate the people in the in and around places of Ganga so that the dumping of domestic waste can be reduced. it is good to see that the present government is taking up an initiative

It is a very essential move undertook by the PM Modi .As Ganga provides 40% water to 11 states across India and the largest river in the world. The waste must be disposed which will also help the ecological balance to restore. It is the responsibility of every Indian to support in this movement

Yes, there should be a river survey in Ganga river, to be cleaned and to remain the water fresh survey should be done and to purify a water.🙂

Shreyas Ramkumar Podar International School Bangalore

I do not believe that undertaking a survey with regards to river Ganga is a good initiative as it''s results will aggravate the people''s minds who treat this river as an goddess. People will start protesting against the government for undertaking such an unnecessary research and brainwashing the people. Only when the situation is critical, then we shall have to respond to it.

YES THERE MUST BE A RIVER SURVEY IN GANGA BECAUSE GANGA IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE MOST AUSPICIOUS RIVER OF INDIA, AND IT IS A BOON FOR INDIA.SO A SURVEY SHOULD BE TAKEN IMMEDIATELY TO SAVE THE "GANGES",BECAUSE IT IS GETTING POLLUTED DAY BY DAY.
