Should Revaluation Be Brought Back From Next Session?

The Delhi High Court recently observed that the CBSE ought not have done away with its re-evaluation policy as it also makes mistakes in evaluation of answer sheets. “You (CBSE) should not have done that. You too make mistakes,” Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva said while hearing a student’s plea for re-evaluation of her class XII board exam answer sheets of English and Maths subjects.

A few days later, referring to a TOI report, the Delhi high court on June 19 wondered if there were errors in the totalling of marks in CBSE’s Class XII exams, how many errors would be there in the evaluation. A bench of Justices Sanjeev Sachdeva and A K Chawla referred to the report while hearing a plea filed by students challenging the scrapping of the re-evaluation policy by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The students and parents not only want the window for verification of marks extended, but are also demanding that the CBSE reopen the re-evaluation process and make available photocopies of the evaluated answer scripts without any rider. What are your views on it?

Yes definitely revaluation had to be brought back. This will make students obtain their deserved marks.

This year alone saw huge variations in released and revised scores of students. If examiners might commit errors, as is human tendency, students should be punished. Revaluation should be brought back in.

there has been a difference by a large rate in the marks of a few students, considering that humans are likely to make mistakes we must try to sort out the mistake, I would prefer cbse bringing the re-evaluation system again.

In my opinion revaluation should be brought back. Because evaluation in the first step will not be accurate. In this case revaluation makes an impact by correcting the mistakes in the first attempt.so CBSE must bring revaluation back.

The 12th Board exams lay a base for our impending future. Mistakes in valuation may result in students not being able to get into their dream colleges and courses. So the revaluation process is the justice for the students.

Re-evaluation should definitely not be scrapped all together because students should have the right to fight for the marks they think they deserve. moreover the teachers checking the papers are humans and can make mistakes despite the formulated pattern CBSE follows.

Revaluation should really be back. Making mistakes is a human tendency but this can''t be done at the cost of a student''s future. At such a crucial point, a mistake of even half a mark can cost the child''s future as the competency is very high these days. Besides all prudential reasons, revaluation will bring a sense of satisfaction to the students and the parents.

Yes, I agree with Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva. CBSE should bring back re-evaluation. They have made a mistake by taking the decision to discontinue re-evaluation. It doesn''t matter whether there is a difference of 5 marks or 50 marks, each and every mark is very valuable for the students. Even 1/2 marks may cause a difference in the position of a child. If the child is not satisfied with his/her results he has the right to request for re-evaluation. Therefore, CBSE should continue re-evaluation.

Re-evaluation is the need of the hour! It was excruciatingly depressing that many of the answer sheets were not checked properly and this dilapidated the future of the enlightened citizens of the country. If re-evaluation should have been there than such huge variations in the marks wouldn''t be there.

Yes of course revaluation should be brought back. As students deserve their maximum mark as a result of their hard work and passion

Yes, Revaluation must be brought back to solve the correction mistakes in board exams. It would be a great benefit for students verify their scores. CBSE should make better revaluation methods to make it a successful one.

humans are tend to make mistakes, no one is an exception. revaluation helps students find their deserved marks and also helps them find their areas of concern.so i strongly believe that revaluation should be brought back.

Examiners should have some allowance on making mistakes but these should not cost a student their future. Re-evaluation should certainly be brought back from next session.

Khushi Malhotra RUKMINI DEVI PUB. SCHOOL(PITAMPURA)

Definitely it had to be because this year a lot of examiners had mistake in their checking

Ronit.R National Hill View Public School

I feel that it will be a very good idea for the CBSE board to bring back it''s reavaluation policy. Most of the times the sheer number of answer papers to be corrected can result in a few errors on the teachers part due to which students might loose out on their marks. That is why to prevent students from loosing out on the marks which they deserve the CBSE should rethink it''s decisi
