Should CCTVs Be Installed In Examination Halls?

Well, if we consider cheating a big problem, then this could just be the solution we should consider.

CCTV cameras were at work on Wednesday as more than one million students across Bihar took the first of the Class 10 examination.  Anand Kishore, Chairman of the Bihar School Examination Board, said the cameras were installed inside and outside the examination centres. Assembly of five or more persons was banned outside the centres.
"The board is taking strict measures against mass cheating and the use of unfair means in examinations," Kishore said.

Do you think CCTVs should be installed in examination halls? Or is it not required? What are the steps that can be taken to stop students from cheating? Share your views and suggestions in the comments section below.

Nowadays children are cheating and it is very much essential to have CCTV cameras so that the children do not use unfair means to gain marks but the question is why have we come to ask a stage where we cannot trust the future citizens of the country! Then is our education system producing such young graduates? We must stop emphasizing on marks and we must start to focus on the overall development of the kid.

Then only our education system will not only be able to produce young intellectuals who are capable of scoring good marks but our also capable of being trusted

In these modern times there is an enormous stress on students for high-scoring and that, I agree has grilled students better but with pros the cons will always be present. Students who are not able to handle this resort to unfair means that has led to a downfall in the morale of students. CCTVs should be installed for developing healthy human beings. Students who are caught must have counselling sessions or else students will start devising more techniques for cheating.

YES USE OF CCTV CAMERAS IN EXAMINATION HALLS IS NECESSARY AS IT CAN BE THE BEST WAY TO MONITOR AND TARGET CHEATING, ALSO IT WILL CREATE A SENSE AND NEED OF HARD WORK IN STUDENTS

CCTV cameras are definitely required as cheating has become very common. And i think that cases of cheating should not be publicised as other students also get motivated and gather courage to cheat. And papers of cheater

I don''t feel that CCTV cameras needs to be installed in examination halls. The best way to stop students from cheating are through these methods: 1. Keep a certain amount of distance from each other so that there won''t be any copying and cheating of answers. 2. The invigilator should have a small check on the pencil box, their pockets, and their uniforms so that they don''t bring any cheat sheets.

I agree that the step is taken by Bihar Education Board is a condign step and should be followed by all the schools in India as it is the exam season and an immediate word you connect with exams is cheating. So to prevent this heinous sin from spreading this step should be taken

It is very important to have CCTV cameras in examination halls because many students attempt cheating and they can be caught red handed if examination halls are monitored with CCTV cameras.

Yes, installation of CCTV''s cameras can help the invigilators to some extent but to eradicate cheating, it is important to make the students sit at a distance from each other. Proper checking of pockets, geometry boxes should be done.

Good idea to prevent copies

I THINK IT IS A NICE WAY TO AVOID CHEATING DURING EXAMS AS NOW WITH THE PASSAGE OF TIME MORE STUDENTS ARE INSTEAD OF UNDERSTANDING AND LEARNING ON THEIR OWN CAPACITY ARE TRYING NEW WAYS TO CHEAT.MOST OF THEM ARE DOING SO TO SCORE GOOD MARKS BECAUSE OF THE STRESS GIVEN BY PARENTS OR TEACHER, AS CONTINUOUSLY TELLING THEM TO STUDY AND SCORE GOOD MARKS CREATE A SCARE IN THEM WHICH LEADS TO STRESS AND THEN THEY CHEAT IN EXAMS BY WHICH THEY ARE UNKNOWINGLY SPOILING THEIR FUTURE.

Harish.E.R VELAMMAL VIDYALAYA WLB SCHOOL

Yes, CCTV Cameras are very important in Board Exams because nowadays students are often cheating, copying and doing malpractices in Board Exams.

I think it is the good way to keep the student in the surveillance of the CCTV. Every parents want that their child score the good marks in the exams, so students try to search the easy way to score high in their exams. If the students are in the surveillance so they''ll not try to do so.

Iman Ray Shri Shikshayatan School

Strict measures should be taken for sure but should we not try and understand the reason behind cheating ? The answer quite obvious to pop out is the lack of proper study.Somewhat our education system is also resultant for it. There is a reason why some of us love a specific subject and as well hate one. If the way of teaching procedure is somewhat alternated by adding power point projections , story method like teaching then I hope the students will be encouraged to acquire knowledge.

I think CCTV are required in examination hall.Because it creates a fear on cheating, getting good by Cheating is not at all good

Akshita Pandey LILAVATI BAI PODAR (A)-SCRUZ

Yes CCTV cameras should be installed in examination halls as it is essential to monitor children and stop them from cheating.

Akshita Pandey LILAVATI BAI PODAR (A)-SCRUZ

Installing CCTV cameras in examination halls will prevent the student from cheating or copying in any examination. If the CCTV cameras will not be installed the students will become motivated to copy and cheat in the exams and gain marks. It is essential to install CCTV cameras in examination centres.

Whether there are CCTVs or not, it will have no impact on the cheating habits of children as constant new methods are devised any new techniques are uploaded on youtube each day. Even if children are caught they don care at all as they have a relaxed attitude towards exams as for them exams are nothing more than pastime. Thus only installation of CCTVs is not adequate and other serious methods need to be implemented as soon as possible to get a batch of mentally wise and healthy children.

Ashutosh Om Sunbeam Suncity

From my point of view CCTV Cameras are very important now a days because childrens are not focusing on their studies

Shoun C.E.T International School

It is good to install CCTV Cameras in exam rooms because if a person lies that he cheated in exams,so we are not sure about the fact .But if they use CCTV cameras they have the proof and cannot deny the truth.

Gowri Shankar.p AMARA JYOTHI ENGLISH SCHOOL

Yes, it is necessary to install CCTV cameras in every school during the period of examination, because the number of cheaters are increasing day by day as though they don''t have fear.Lots of them exchange their answer papers. To prevent this CCTV must be installed in every school.

SUBHADRA J K V TIRUMALAGIRI

Yes! Yes, please do this. This would be the quickest way to fix our education system at very little cost. Give parents a code to do real time virtual visits to the classroom. Observe teachers not just for accountability, but for training purposes. Get rid of behavior management problems on the spot! Are you aware of the thousands of dollars that are spent every day in U.S. Schools just dealing with classroom management? Schools should have glass walls and this is the easiest way to have them.

Shubham Bansal AMITY SCHOOL (GURGAON SEC_46)

yes of course. otherwise this bad practicing of cheating would be followed from generations to generations.
