On Doklam, Japan Backs India. Your Take?

In a significant act of support for India in its protracted military standoff with China at Doklam, near the Sikkim-Tibet-Bhutan trijunction, Japan has said there should be no attempt to change the status quo on the ground by force.

The Japanese statement comes as an endorsement of the Indian position that China has violated agreements with India and Bhutan in attempting to build a road through Doklam plateau, which is part of Bhutan, a development that would be a serious disadvantage to India's military defences.

Japanese ambassador Kenji Hiramatsu's observation on Doklam comes two months after Indian troops stalled Chinese road construction activities and is seen as endorsing India's stance as being impor tant for a peaceful resolution.

The Japanese reaction follows two separate interventions by the US calling for direct dialogue between India and China to resolve the crisis while cautioning against unilateral changes on the ground. This, too, has been seen as supportive of India's point of view.

On Doklam, if India backs the troops then taking the advantage, China can attack and conquer that area. If it goes like this, soon China will ask India to back the troops from New Delhi also. The international bodies should take some action on it.

I think India soldiers should not be backed because they will get a chance to subpress us. They can also take this initiative,why us? Our mighty soldiers have capability to make them still. After the support of Japan, India has gained firm position in Doklam issue. In this crucial stage the only thing that should be kept in mind by India is to keep patience and not to violate the law. This will help India to gain more support in future.

Japan’s support comes when China has been stepping up pressure on India & Bhutan. Japan is also facing the similar situation in East China Sea where the two countries have competing claims to small, uninhabited islet called Senkaku in Japan. That is the reason Japan has come forward to support India. Support from nations like Japan & US will help India to build pressure back on China. This will surely compel China to consider dialogue route for peaceful conflict-resolution on Doklam.

I think it a very good initiative by Japan as it is extending a whole hearted support to India against China. Japan is the first country to speak on the crises and support India. As dolkam is disputed by Bhutan and China and if the chinese soldiers entered India through bhutan this will affect New Delhi''s strategic interests.
