Nishi Upadhyay: How Education Should Change In 2017?

Well the news of the month is that boards are back. But is it really what the students of the country need? Will it improve the quality of education?
According to me, what we need is a real change in the education system rather than being stuck to these archaic exam methods. What do you think? Share your thoughts . What changes would you like to see in our education system?

I completely agree with you. Indian education system is all about getting good marks whether by hook or crook. Here it''s not the slow and steady who wins the race here one who can cram the syllabus wins the race. I think that we should switch on to the western education system where practicality and understanding of concepts is given more importance than cramming of the theoretical part.

Nishi Upadhyay BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

I firmly believe that instead of bringing boards back we should bring a change in our education system and that is what we really need . Do you really think that full course in the exams and no activities which they call "useless" will increase the quality of our education system. Why are we still stuck to boards from past few years ? Why don''t we think beyond it?

Ritvik Baweja BAL BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (PITAM PUR

There needs to be a revolutionary change in the education system. I think bringing boards was a good move but still some post- board policies need to be there. Extra curricular activities like music dance should be given more weightage in the grading system, then only the child will feel less burdened and preach academics as a liking.

simridhi DL DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL(SHALIMAR BAGH)

In India, the skill of memorization is given more importance, than conceptual learning. If a student gets fail, then he or she is not told to make the concept clear, rather he is pressurized to anyhow just pass the exam. The government should make efforts towards conceptual learning. Govt. should pay some more attention to week students. Now boards are back , and this is going to make the marks fall badly this is not correct as class X marks are important as it decides the subject to be taken.

I firmly believe you , archaic exam methods should be followed to a certain limit. we should strongly follow the western education system where understanding of concepts is given importance than the theoretical part

Yes, our education system must be changed in 2017. I have thought about my dream Education system. But I am not sure if it''s good. According to me, There will be one zone in particular area. Where everything will be there. Like, we have Hospital in our real world, so there will be also. We have Transportation services, so there will be also. Every thing which we have, that thing will be there. And there only Children can use it. And it will be also run by Children!!

Hafsa Malwat F D SCHOOL

Some most Educated person will teach them, how to run it. But before that every child will be taught 3 languages. First is English, second is Hindi and third is Mother tongue. So, in artificial world, he will be taught every thing. And in real world, he will do that thing by himself.

ANWESHA DAS Delhi public school Kalyanpur

Exams are not every thing, and this is a fact that every citizen must understand. To bring about a real change in the education system, more emphasis should be given on the child''s creativity and scientific skills rather than introducing long examinations that test ones memory and not concepts.

priyanka singhal HILLWOOD ACADEMY(PREET VIHAR)

Bringing boards back is just degrading Indian education system which is already been stubborn because of giving memorization great importance. The present education system is a barrier in achieving real knowledge. A change is surely needed.

The education system should consist of vocational education also. Education as well as skill training has to be an integral part of general education system. Most of the employment opportunities require skill which should be imparted in school. Education is effective only when what we study is been done practically also

Pragadeesh Rj Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School - Puducherry

Indian education is going on the way to get good marks only.the students are not learning deeply.they are only memorizing to get marks.this system is not good.the sudden change should be overcome in indian eduction system. Our education system in 2017 should be like in non memorized leraning syllabus.

Nihal Jani SAKAR

In this year''s education budget, I would like HRD minister Prakash Javdekar to introduce uniformity for all boards of the country whether state boards or national boards. If the syllabus would be same, then there will be less chances of a student not achieving due to different syllabus in different boards.

Sujay Mohanty Ryan International School

With ''Digital India'', even education system should go digital. Indian education system is not just about scoring good marks. We need to think out of the box, use our creativity (if we are allowed). Studying should not be only about theory learning but also practical learning.

NIRMAY CHAUDHRY DAV PUB SCH SHRESHTRA VIHAR

Yes,now-a-days indian education is all getting about good marks.Students just memorise the things without understanding it.We should adopt western education in which concepts are linked with practicals.I think more importance should be given to the practicals which are easier for better understanding.

Palaash Agarwal DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL ROHINI

Marks have been made a very important criteria in the annual performance of a student, but people also bring marks by cheating. It is directly derived from the grades the performance of the student . We should develop a new system of assessment of the material taught.More real-life application questions should be added for that,in the test. We read and memorize the answers, which is theoretical. Hence more practical assessment has to be done.

Kashish Goel Bal Bharati Public School

i agree with you. at this stage, the way of learning(ratta) should be changed. however, the ratta method is not used by each and every child but the way of learning in foreign countries is much better than India. Boards will be good or not will be proven when the results after implementation comes but the policy (3 language system) that they have enforced is not in favour of children, I suppose. children would not be able to learn language such as french that has universal appeal.

Harshit SD AdarshVidyalaya

Present education system is marks oriented only based with mugging up everything that is taught. Schools also encourage this thing and consider such students getting 98 or 99% marks as very intelligent. With the coming of new year this metholody should be changed. Practical applacability of the subject is something we need to focus on, so as to make every student understand the reason behind every theory or formula. By this method students will be able to develop their self-thinking skills.

Balaji S VANI VIDYALAYA S.S.S & JR. COLG

Currently, our education system is mainly on just marks. Proper educational structure is required for proper shaping of our education system. Equal weightage should be given for both theory and practical from middle school . School syllabus should be setup in such a way that students are not bored and feared and are keenly interested in the subject. The education syllabus should enable students to explore their talents and abilities and not just memorizing the subjects and scoring marks.

SHAKSHI SOMERVILLE SCHOOL (SR.)(NOIDA)

I totally agree with you. The education system does need a change. By sticking to these archaic exam will just pressurize the students more. Most importantly, till class 10, all the students are forced to study those subjects which they don''t want to, which pressurizes them more. Switching to western education system would be a good thought as cramming is not given more importance.
