Make Judgments Understandable To Litigants In The Language They Understand, Says President Ram Nath Kovind. Your Views...

During the trial, lawyers and judges keep on ranting legal words about which the litigant has no clue. This move will ensure a better understanding of court proceedings and litigant will have clarity on what is being said regarding his/her case. No doubt Google can bring in some answers, but actual translation will help the laymen seek justice.

Taking justice to the people is an important role of the judiciary, but those involved should also be able to understand the verdict that is passed or the proceedings of the trial. A plaintiff and accused should not feel lost because of the use of legal jargons.

It is crucial that litigants understand the verdict issued by the honourable Courts or else they will be dependent on their lawyers or other sources to understand the verdict. This will waste time, monetary resources and besides,  the verdict may not be explained properly by sources other than the judiciary.

ndia is often referred as the museum of languages. In such a scenario , a common man may not be conversant with english and the judgements made , may turn the judiciary cumbersome as he may have to depend on external sources to get the verdict translated , which adds to the woes of the person.
