Jerome: The Government Should Take Proactive Measures To Save Tigers

These days, tigers are vanishing from the face of mother Earth. The tiger is an endangered species and the primary cause for this is poaching for fur and skin. India is home to the world's largest population of wild tigers. But due to fragmentation of habitat, only 11% of the historical tiger habitat remains in the country.

Don't you think the government should take concrete steps to ensure that tigers are safe and healthy?

Yes, I do think that the govt should take strict actions against poaching of tigers for their skin. Well, it''s not just India, but the whole world which is lacking many tigers. I feel devastated to tell that there are less than 3200 tigers left in the entire world. The government should take concrete steps to ensure that tigers are not only healthy but also safe from poachers and hunters.

Tigers play an essential role in the health of the ecosystem. In ecosystem tigers are at the apex of the food chain. Its not just the work of the government for increasing the tiger species. We should also give a helping hand and plant more trees instead of reducing them, for the rise of the tigers.

Ofcourse, I do think that government should establish rules against poaching of tigers for their skin and fur. Tigers are also an important part in balancing the ecosystem. I feel that we should say ''No'' to tiger trade by refusing to buy tiger parts and items prepared from tiger derivatives. I also feel that we should form forums on web for discussion and exchange views on tiger conservation. Conserve tigers and increase the historical tiger habitat.

yes.According to me tigers are one of the most endangered animal and our heritage too.The highest number of wild tigers are found in India. If they will be extinct we would be left with nothing to show to our next generation, read about tigers in our history textbooks

Tiger isn''t just a big cat, it has the honour to be the national animal of India. Should the Indian government express such an apathy on the issue which could cause the extinction of its own national animal? Absolutely not! Tiger is the honour and pride of India, protecting it isn''t just crucial for our ecosystem but also for the dignity of India!
