Is The Content Bigger Than The Stars And Banners?

Actress Urmila Mahanta, who plays a pivotal role in the Akshay Kumar-starrer "Pad Man", says the audience loves films with strong content and that a movie's success doesn't rely just on the banner or superstar. "Content is bigger than the production house and the superstars. If you have strong content with strong performances and a team, I think you can release your film any time and the audience will still love it," she said.

What do you think about the opinion expressed by the actress?  Is content the king?

Well, stars and the banners play an important role in movies. But somewhere people try to find good content. So, yes content is important too. rather I should say content is more important.

Stars and banners do play an important role in movies. but still people look out for some nice content. if they wouldn''t then we wouldn''t have such great problems that happened with padmaavat and PK if anyone remembers..so it can be concluded that people look out for content more than stars and banners

Content is the gist, it says it all. The main purpose of watching a film is the content because it is the expression of the writer which is conveyed to the general public. The content is expressed through a medium called actors. Yes, the stars and banners are important but way less than the content.

Majority of our audience prefer good content with good implementation. But there are people who see and promote a movie based on the casting rather than the plot. Sometimes a good plot can be put forward by a movie which dosen''t cast very famous actors but provides a lesson to learn and which is important for life.

Yes, Content is important than the actors and the banners. Gone are the days when movies starring star actors being a instant hit. Nowadays, People have realised and are watching movies only when they have a good content first and the actors or banners come second. Movies like Tubelight , Jab Harry met Sejal being failures are examples of this.I absolutely support the view of Urmila mam.

Veerbhadra mahant Podar international school chinchwad

well banners are the main thing in movies. every movie creates its banner to show people. some people see the movies because of banner. I say "banners are main in movies"

First impression will be created by the stars and the promotion of the film. But anyway, plot matter a lot. If a movie is strong in its contents, and if it truly focuses the audience it''ll be super hit. Hope Pad Man will reach great success!

Yes,even if top superstars act in a movie the content must be very strong to make the movie successful. Not only the actors but also the subject or the content are important part of the movie. People Search for good stories so a movie with best content and screenful will definitely be a success.

Well we may say like that but I think that it is not true . If the hero of the film has more fans they go mad for him and see the film for number of times . If the hero is not popular then only a little crowd is expected to watch the film .

Khushi Kanchan mahatma hansraj modern school

absolutely,we the people of modern society...strongly believe in it...as nowadays films on social issues has a great dominance...and they portrait the right things to spread awareness...thanks to people like akshay kumar and amir khan who have courage to do pictures on such sensitive issues...

Ambika Khachi Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula

It cannot be said as a full truth. In India, where often people fall for big banners and star''s big budgeted films it''s not always proven right that content always outplays. Although recently it''s been seen that people are heartedly liking all the good contented films and are promoting them.

Om Dharme NARAYANA VIDYALAYAM NAGPUR

Content may not always prove to be dominating over stars and banners. There are many movies like newton which also have been nominated for an oscar but still was not that popular, was it? So somewhere, somehow stars and banners and all play an important role.

Nimesh Singh DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL (INDIRAPURAM)

True, content definitely overpowers. It''s the same thing as saying "Don''t judge a book by its cover". Although, good acting enhance the beauty of films, but it is the content which strikes the public and make it worth-watching. Although there are people who judge a film by its cast, that doesn''t really make any difference in the overall ratings. Content is the boss.

Mohak Gandhi KIIT WORLD SCHOOL(PITAMPURA)

Yes content is surely bigger and we have seen many movies failing due to lack of content. Today''s generation likes to watch good content rather than focussing of stars and banners. Actors like Nawazuddin Sidique and Akshay Kumar have reached these heights through pure acting and content.

Paavni Maheshwari St Mary's School

I feel production house and the superstars do play n important role in movies success because India is land of villages and only Big Banner movies have the capability to get into those remote places. Hence even if the content is strong if movie is not reaching out to right audience it will fail to create magic.

Om Badiyani Sandipani

Content os obviously important for films. But, star and banners play a very important role in the success of a film. People only generate interest in the films when they see their favourite stars and get attract towards it.
