Does Social Media Help Your Mental Well-Being?

Facebook and Twitter reduce negative emotions and may help restore a sense of well-being, says a study. Your views?

A sense of well-being, in my opinion, is a state of mind, where an individual feels very positive and is conditionally on a high note. If someone is well connected on Facebook, chances are families, friends and closeness from them generates those positive vibes. But it can also be an individual’s prerogative to remain happy, like some do spiritually.

Social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter help overcome social anxiety to some extent. From behind the screen, one can communicate with people in a much more amiable way than in real life. This can lead to an overall positive take on life.

FB and other social networking websites share a lot of positive thoughts and stories that inspire us. When we feel low, depressed or dejected, writing about it on social media provides us a platform to vent out feelings. When I am upset, funny posts and motivational writings on FB help me.

To a certain extent ,social media is a way of releiving stress and anxiety. It definitely provides a platform for sharing ideas and views. But its excess can be dreadfully harmful leading to addictions. Also, on the other hand there can be better alternatives for boosting energy and releiving stress like outdoor gaming ,a walk in the garden or closeness with nature. So its not very necessary to depend on social media for our mood upliftment .

at the exact point when social media starts to overpower us, i think all the good aspects are removed. does seeing the fact that someone is having more holidays than you, eating better than you, more rich than you, has more friends than you make you happy, i dont think so.

Everything has two faces ,like that only even FB has good and bad effects . But it''s all about the limits which we are in . So we can''t say that it''s completely true or completely wrong.
