‘Newton’ Is India’s Official Oscars Entry. Your Views?

Bollywood movies are a good dose of entertainment, entertainment and entertainment. Most of them are nothing more than a vibrant collection of epic storylines. ‘Newton’s entry to the Oscars will surely be a huge platform to showcase our capability of storytelling.

The selection of ‘Newton’ as India's official Oscar entry is a move in the right direction. It is remarkable that a realistic film with an accurate portrayal of the corrupt depths of our electoral system has been chosen as against a typical song-and-dance film.

I believe that in order to win an Oscar, advertisements, lobbying and promotions are crucial. The estimated cost for ‘Lagaan’s Oscar publicity, over a decade ago, was $2 million. In comparison, ‘Newton’ was made on a shoe-string budget. Since money is so crucial to create a successful Oscar campaign, the odds are against ‘Newton’. Still, I hope it wins.

The theme of this movie is greatly depicted in the movie. But it is the way in which it has been depicted. This movie, ''newton'', should go for the oscars, but there are other movies such as ''Bahubali 2'', which should ideally move into the screens of oscars. Nevertheless, if Newton wins the so called ''greatest movie award'', the Indian film industry would gain a boost in its profits.

Am really excited to her the news that one of the bollywood movie is in the Oscar entry. A movie receives a warm applause from the audience if it contains emotions of love, suspense or when it becomes thrilling. Judging a movie is a very difficult task as it should prove itself the best in very criteria . I hope this time ''Newton'' starring Rajkummar Rao must reach the heights as expected by each one of us.
