Most Popular Cakes Across The Globe

Lapis Legit

This layered, fluffy, spongy Indonesian cake may be European-inspired, but sports an Asian twist. It is sweet, moist, has cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and prunes, and is generally made of 18 layers compressed into one.

Dorayaki

This Japanese cake is a kind of a sandwich, made of sponge cake shaped in the form of a pancake. These disc-shaped pancakes are then combined and filled with a sweet adzuki red-bean paste.

Tiramisu

Everyone’s favourite and available even locally, the name of this dessert actually means ‘pick me up’ in Italian. It is normally made of sugar, caffeine, mascarpone cheese and eggs. But there are many modern takes on this classic dish.

Cheesecake

Cheesecake can be dated back to the Greeks and Romans. However the contemporary versions boast of a wholesome layer of cheese, sugar and eggs on a crushed cookie base.

Princess cake

This Swedish cake has an entire week dedicate to it. The Swedish celebrate this cake at
the end of September. It is a dome-shaped mix of jam, custard, sponge and cream, arranged in layers and finally covered with marzipan.
