Discuss: Will Trump Make Environment Suffer?

There could be environmental repercussions of Donald Trump becoming the 45th anniversary of the United States if you take into account Trump’s stand on emissions and the inherent indifference of the Republicans towards nature.

Will Trump Withdraw US Out Of The Paris Agreement?
The Democrats have always been committed to the upkeep of the environment. Even Obama had constantly insisted on reducing greenhouse emissions, and that’s where pacts like Paris Agreement and initiatives like Clean Power Plan (it required electricity sector to cut emissions by 32 percent in 13 years) gained momentum. On the other hand, Donald Trump had said that he will scrap the Paris Agreement and Clean Power Plant.

Why Paris Agreement Is Important

  • America’s contribution in green house emission is roughly 13%, and if it withdraws out of the Paris Agreement, it’s going to add to the already deadly state of global warming.
  • According to UN, even if the target of Paris Agreement to clamp the rising temperature to 2C or 1.5C is met, the global temperature would still see an upswing of 2.9C to 3.4C this century. Without holding on to the pact, the rise could be very bad.

“All the progress we've made on climate change…is going to be on the ballot”
Obama pre-poll quote

Trump thinks global warming is a hoax
While Obama and Hillary had reiterated that global warming is real; Trump has called it a hoax. Last year in December, at a rally, Trump had said, “So Obama's talking about all of this with the global warming and the — a lot of it's a hoax, it's a hoax." He went to add, “"I mean, it's a moneymaking industry, OK? It's a hoax, a lot of it." Now, if Trump doesn’t get his thought process in place, global warming will have to pay the price.

Did You Know: About 100 birds are hit and killed by turbine blades every year in America. Not thousands as claimed by Trump.

He is not a big fan of clean energy
Not only has he said that he would relook at the spending on clean energy and get rid of regulations for energy companies, he might even revive the dying coal industry. Now this would obviously mean more coal smoke. Trump has repeatedly called solar and wind energy to be harmful. He has even said that the turbines that power wind mills kill thousands of birds.  Trump had once said: "Solar is very, very expensive. Wind is very, very expensive, and it only works when it's windy." "And it kills all the birds. I don't know if you know that. ... Thousands of birds are lying on the ground. And the eagle. You know, certain parts of California — they've killed so many eagles. You know, they put you in jail if you kill an eagle. And yet these windmills [kill] them by the hundreds."

Republicans are not the best bet for environment
The Republicans have often been considered anti-environment because majority of them don’t even give an open stance on global warming. According to Law Street Media, “only eight out of 278 Republican members of Congress have taken open stances that they believe climate change is real.” The Republicans hardly talk about environment like the Democrats do. For Hillary, climate change was one of the most important factors that she said she was committed to, however, Trump never really focused on it.

Have you followed the US elections? Do you think environment will pay the price for Donald Trump being elected the US Prez. Register to post your comment.

I DON''T THINK SO..........

Donald Trump is not doubt a hard leader and will furnish America with hard policies. Not only environment, economy will also suffer. As he himself mentioned that he will be more inclined towards the use of fossil fuels and reduce the use of renewable resources. Trump ideology is more deviated towards adopting hard policies for America.

It was hard to see Trump as the president of US. But now as he is, only future will tell what it holds. However, it is childish of Trump to think that Climate Change is not for. America is one of the greatest victims of global warming. It has destroyed itself in the race of being the superpower of the world.

Trump is really anti-environment and is really stubborn the believe that climate change is a hoax when there is more than enough proof to prove it as real. I hope Hillary Clinton and the Democrats put up a stiff and strong opposition to Trump''s anti-environmentalist policies.

Even though Donald Trump is the new Us Prez, but still Clintojn won the popularity vote. This a clear cut message for the public in USA, that the existing laws and policies will suffer immensely. Therefore a new and re-created environment will be nurtured when Trump is implying new ideas .
