India Beat Pakistan By 95 Runs

Ekta Bisht spun a web around Pakistan with her second-best ODI haul of 5 for 18 to give India a memorable 95-run win in their third league encounter of the ongoing ICC Women's World Cup 2017 on Sunday (July 2). The left-arm spinner registered India's best figures in Women's World Cup history to shoot out Pakistan for an embarrassing 74 in 38.1 overs, after India were restricted to 169 on a slow Derby wicket.

Despite the inclusion of pacer Mansi Joshi, Mithali Raj threw the new ball to the experienced Bisht, who got India off to just the perfect they needed while defending a sub-par score. The ploy to start with spin got instant results as Bisht scalped three in her opening spell - all trapped leg-before - while giving away a measly four runs. She returned in the second half to pick two more for only her second ODI fifer, maintaining an impeccable line and length throughout. Only two of Pakistan batters - opener Nahida Khan (23) and skipper Sana Mir (29) - managed a score in double figures, while as many as four trudged back without troubling the scorers.

Bisht kicked off with a wicket-maiden, trapping the dangerous Ayesha Zafar in front of the stumps for a seven-ball one. Dropped by Deepti Sharma even before she could open her account, Nahida Khan chipped in with a valiant effort but found very little support from the other end to put up a fight. Experienced No. 3 bat Javeria Khan became Jhulan Goswami's first victim in this World Cup but not before a futile DRS review. Pakistan's woes multiplied soon after as Bisht took out wicketkeeper Sidra Nawaz and the comeback girl Iram Javed in her successive overs, while the only runs meanwhile came courtesy a misfield at third man boundary.

At least someone recreated the ideal past of India v/s Pakistan! The boys couldn''t do it but the girls did it. This is one match which might unite the nation so that they start taking notice of the Indian ''women''s'' cricket team. Kudos to Ekta Bisht for her spellbinding fifer! Let''s hope the country rises with chants of "Mithali! Mithali!", "Ekta! Ekta!" and "Smriti! Smriti!" apart from "Kohli! Kohli!" and "Dhoni! Dhoni!" #GirlPower

Hats off to the Indian Team. They had played very well in this game especially the five wicket taker girl Ekta Bisht. She had performed exceptionally well. Mithali Raj is leading the team very beautifully, if she keeps on guiding the team like this they will soon have the World Cup trophy in their hands. This is surely a revenge to Pakistan for defeating their men in the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy. Best Of Luck!! I totally agree with what Ayushi and Himanshi have said.
