4 Upcoming Budget Smartphones

We’re just days into 2017 and there’s already a whole slew of exciting smartphone launches lined up. In fact, a handful of handsets are slated to launch in the month of January itself. Here are 5 smartphones that will be coming to India this month.

Lenovo P2

Lenovo is all set to launch its P2 smartphone in India. The P2 was first launched at the IFA 2016 conference, alongside the Lenovo A Plus. The smartphone flaunts a metal unibody design and has a 5.5-inch Full-HD Super AMOLED display of 1080x1920 pixel resolution. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and is powered by and octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM. There’s also 32GB/64GB internal storage and support for microSD cards. The smartphone comes with a huge 5,100mAh battery with fast charging support. For imaging duties, the smartphone has a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies. Connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Honor 6X

Huawei's sub-brand Honor will be bringing its Honor 6X smartphone to Indian shores soon. The smartphone was recently showcased at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The highlight of the Honor 6X is its dual rear camera setup, which comes with a 6P Lens and Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF). While one module is a 12MP one, the other one has a resolution of 2MP. The Honor 6X also has an 8MP selfie-camera.

In other specifications, Honor 6X features a 5.5-inch Full-HD resolution display with 2.5D curved glass. It’s powered by the company's home-brewed octa-core Kirin 655 processor clubbed with Mali T830-MP2 GPU. The 4G VoLTE supporting smartphone is backed by a 3,340mAh battery with fast charging support. Running EMUI 4.1 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor placed at the back.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4

Launched in China last year, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is about to launch in India as well. In terms of specifications, it features a 5.5-inch Full HD display of 1080x1920 pixel resolution. Powering the handset is a 2.1GHz deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor coupled with a 2GB/3GB RAM. It offers 16GB/64GB of internal storage and supports microSD cards as well. The Redmi Note 4 sports hybrid dual-SIM functionality and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, with Xiaomi’s MIUI skin running on top. For imaging duties, the handset has a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and dual-tone LED Flash, along with a 5MP front facing camera for selfies. Connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, 3G,Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Glonass and microUSB, with a 4,100mAh battery rounding off the spec sheet.

Nubia Z11 Mini S, Nubia N1

ZTE's sub-brand Nubia will be launching two smartphones in the country soon. These are the Z11 Mini S and a 64GB variant of the company’s earlier launched N1 budget smartphone.

Nubia Z11 Mini S features a 5.2-inch Full HD display with 1080x1920 pixel resolution. The handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 4GB of RAM. It offers 64GB/128GB of internal storage and supports microSD cards up to 256GB in size. The Z11 Mini S runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Nubia UI running on top of it. It sports a 23MP rear camera with LED flash, as well as a 13MP front shooter for selfies. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as connectivity options.
