Seniors Display True Spirit Of Sportsmanship

Shivalik Public School, Phase 6, Mohali, marked its  Annual Sports Day event for the students of senior wing in the sprawling grounds of the school. A  scintillating start to the day’s programme began with the march past which was the crowning glory of all sporting events.  The ceremonial sports torch was lit by the school director marking the commencement of the sporting events of the day.
He addressed the students with his inspiring words explaining the importance of sports and outdoor activities in a student’s  life. The  event was marked by the impressive aerobics and military drill. Formation of 2 - tier, 3 - tier  and 4- tier pyramids by class IX and X boys reflected a dramatic showpiece of their daily endeavour, exemplary precision and daredevil techniques. Head girl Nidhi administered the oath of unity and integrity to all the participants.
More than 350 students participated in the customised and fun-filled track and field events such as 200m, 400m, shuttle run, standing skipping, ball throw, etc. The day concluded with the award ceremony wherein the winners of cluster sports tournaments and CBSE  zonal tournament were awarded too.
Principal Anupkiran Kaur appreciated the students for enthusiastic participation in the sports day programme and also thanked the staff for the meticulous planning and execution of the sports events.
