‘Dress the Door’ competition on eco-sustainability

An interesting competition titled 'Dress the Door' was held recently at Dr. Kalmadi Shamarao High School, Ganeshnagar for the students of classes V and VI.
The main theme for this competition was 'Sustainability: Greener Earth'. Under this theme, all the six divisions of classes V and VI each, chose a topic such as- sustainable celebrations, architecture, fashion and technology to name a few.
All the class teachers along with one subject teacher brainstormed over the topic in a common meeting with the principal. After this, the topic was put forth in front of the class and together, all the teachers along with their class and a few parent volunteers materialised their topic and put it on display over the two class doors and the adjoining wall connecting the class doors.
The primary and pre-primary teachers were invited as the judges for the competition. Winners in three different categories namely- Best door, Best creative door and Best student presentation along with one consolation price was announced on the same day.
Students got to showcase their talent and explain the content on the door through presentations, songs, debates and skits. Students also willingly pledged to develop and lead a sustainable way of life by making    at least one change in their routine which eventually will help our mother earth to be a better place to live in.
