Chief Guest Lauds Kids For Highlighting Prominent Issues

The Annual Celebration in St Anne’s Convent School, Sector 32, Chandigarh, commenced with great zest. The function not only showcased the talent of young students from kindergarten to class V but also enthralled the audience. The occasion was graced by Rajan Datt, IRS, additional commissioner, Customs, CGST & Central Excise, as the chief guest.
 School manager Father Dr Robert Fernandez and principal Sister Dr Shyni Paul felicitated the chief guest with a memento and shawl. The chief guest was first welcomed by the school band and then the programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp and invocation of the divine presence with a prayer dance.
The important environmental issues were highlighted by class I appealing the audience to stop the use of plastic and urged everyone to ‘go green’ and class V showcased an assortment of fusion dances to depict the importance of water conservation as a global problem. Programmes like ‘The Golden Touch’, ‘Alert Today, Alive Tomorrow’, ‘Poetry of Footsteps’ was performed in the mystical dance form bharatanatyam. Kindergarten students presented folk dance ‘The Magic of Ankle Bell’ and displayed their talents in martial arts and aerobics. In the end, the spirit of Punjab was relived by all through bhangra. The chief guest lauded the vision and relentless hard work done by students and their mentors for presenting such a message-oriented programme.
