Chief Guest Advises Youngsters To Counter Stress With Sports

For Carmelites, sports are a means to inculcate traits of hard work and dedication, and an unbeatable desire to excel in students.
To get to the pinnacle of their sport, even the most naturally gifted sportspersons have to give it their all; and this is what Carmelites regularly do.
To celebrate the spirit of teamwork, camaraderie, perseverance and strength in the face of all odds, the senior wing of Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, Chandigarh, gathered to celebrate its Annual Sports Day.
The day began with the arrival of chief guest Garima Singh, special secretary, finance, Punjab Government, who was given the guard of honour by the school band. This was followed by the inspection of the parade and a wonderful array of drills, march past, track events, and reading out of the annual sports report by the sports captain Jannia Singh. Sports awards were also given out to the national and state level achievers. Garima Singh, in her speech, urged students and parents alike to make a difference by working towards protecting the environment.
As president of the Punjab Kickboxing Association, she also mentioned the importance of fitness and good health in the youth as a way to counter stress of life.
