How Can I Get Rid Of Boredom?

Iam an only child, at home my parents love me a lot, yet I feel lonely. Even in a crowd I feel lonely. The loneliness and feelings of friendlessness are sometimes so overpowering that I feel almost suicidal. It's difficult for me to overcome. Please help.

Tip 1: It is natural as feelings of loneliness can strike anyone, children with siblings too can feel left out. You have understand that you are an integral part of this Universe. You have a definite role to play in the Universal scheme of things. So you must devote yourself to finding out what is your calling in life. For this, you can start with writing down things you enjoy doing and things which you are passionate about. Having done this, start practicing and honing your skills in this field of your choice.

Tip 2: Keep yourself busy all the time. Take up some form of exercise, it could be yoga, meditation, running, walking, swimming, cycling, etc. Do it regularly, keep yourself so much occupied during the day, that you have no time for feeling lonely.

Tip 3: You must develop a hobby.  Devote your free time to this hobby. Enjoy every minute that you spend in pursuit of this hobby.

I''m an only child too and sometimes feel like my life would have been better if I had had a sibling. I got a pet cat for my birthday and it really helped me get over my loneliness. I also took to reading a lot of novels and editing videos, to escape the loneliness.

I have always felt lonely. And to get rid of that feeling, I maintained my diary in whom I keep confiding. It helps me get a friend for life. Also, I never let my mind stay silent. I run an imaginary school, and try occupying myself with organising stuff for it. That may seem to be the silliest thing ever, but that helps me overcome loneliness to a great extent. I also have an imaginary sister, and an imaginary friend. So it''s all imaginary, but has the capacity to keep me occupied for life.
