Sports Is About Great Passion

Enjoy your game and chase your dreams, because dreams do come true - Sachin Tedulkar
Sports, for me is more than a game. Unlike other professions, it is based purely on talent and hard work. It is rewarding in many ways. It helps us stay healthy, fit and fine. It boosts our self-esteem, teaches us teamwork and helps achieve goals not only in the game but in real life too. If we practices any sport, we have an added advantage in academics as it plays a crucial role to enhance our concentration, will power, perseverance and even stamina. One should practice some kind of sport not just to win but to introspect, to know one's flaws and strengths.
A number of people find passion in playing some sport. My passion lies in the sport of Badminton. I aim to become a shuttler some day and make my country proud. Movies like Dangal, MS Dhoni: the untold story, Mary Kom and so on inspire me a great deal and makes me go the extra mile to achieve results. These movies are testimonies of great players who have taught us life lessons - believe in yourself, get your basics right, set a strategy, plan and execute, and most important, accept your failures and learn from them.
Sports do not build character. They reveal it. An athlete cannot run with money in his pockets. He must run with a hope in his heart and dream in his head. The rest will follow suit. Yet there are many who discourage their children from pursuing sports as a career. But, as it is rightly said, 'Take risks: If you win, you will be happy; if you lose, you will be wise.' I would like to urge all the budding sports enthusiasts to take that chance, believe in themselves and take up a career in their favourite sports. It will enable them to lead a fascinating, healthy, joyful and longer life. You never know if you can be the next Sachin or PV Sindhu. Go for it!
