Tale Of Rubio & His Owner

Dog Sets Example Of True Love, Woos Flight Attendant With Complete Devotion Till She Adopts Him

Life as a flight attendant is tough, from crazy flight schedules to jet lag to high-altitude pressures. And Olivia Sievers would often travel from her home in Germany to Buenos Aires in Argentina for work. On these trips, it was not uncommon for her to befriend animals she met.

In February, while taking a stroll around the hotel she was staying at, she met a friendly street dog. An animal lover, Sievers indulged the dog with some treats and played with him. The dog, in turn stayed by her side and refused to leave her even when she started to return to her hotel.

"I tried to change my way because I didn't want that he follow me back to the hotel," she told Noticiero Trece. "But it was not possible. He always came back and followed me. I tried one hour, but he always watched me and followed me. He was really happy that somebody gave him attention."

Enchanted by his love, Sievers named the dog, Rubio, and gave him one of her airline blankets so he could stay warm at night. Rubio, stayed at the gate of the hotel and refused to leave during her stay. Soon, she left for her next destination.

On her next visit to Buenos Aires, in April, she was staying at the same hotel and was surprised to find Rubio waiting at the hotel gate for her. Almost as if he knew her schedule and when she would arrive at the hotel!

The same thing happened over the next few months as Sievers travelled extensively and popped into Buenos Aires between flights. Rubio was always able to guess her visit time and would be present at the hotel gate for a cuddle and to play.

It was becoming harder and harder for Sievers to leave Rubio behind and she worried about him. Thankfully, she was able to find a loving family to take him in but Rubio escaped from their house and returned to the hotel gate on her next visit.

It was soon clear to Sievers that Rubio had fallen completely in love with her and would not leave her side. "What a great dog! Unfortunately, it breaks my heart again and again, to let him back. Only in July, I can be here again, in order to look for him...." she declared on Facebook.

At last, she finally decided to take Rubio to her home in Germany. And after much hassle, she was able to do so. Rubio now lives along with one cat, two other dogs and a horse - all fostered by Sievers. He spends his time playing with his new friends and cuddling with Sievers when she returns home from her travels.

The rest as they say is history!
