Now Plan A Pet Retreat!

While you pack for your upcoming winter retreat, two big sobbing eyes look at you. These are the same eyes that welcome you home every day.

Leaving your pets behind when you’re off on a holiday is difficult. How can you go on a sabbatical while your furry buddy stays behind? Thanks to the Internet generation, now this worry is also taken care of.

“It all started with an article in TOI where late Pandit Ravi Shankar was not allowed with his pet in any hotel in Pune. That is when it struck me, that there needs to be a way out,” says Vinayak Prabhu, founder of Pet Vacations.

With many online portals like petvacations.in and collarfolk.com, organizing a trip for you and your best friend isn’t a tedious job anymore. Not only do these sites offer resorts where your pet can join you for a holiday, but also organize and get you in touch with holiday managers who will make sure to keep your holiday hassle-free.

“We have tied up with 500 hotels and resorts across India. They have already been instructed on what a pet needs,” says Prabhu. Petvacations.in makes their guests sign a 3-party contract wherein the etiquettes of the pet are the owner’s responsibility.

Collarfolk.com facilitates needs of your pet like pet food. From trekking to in-city experiences, it provides you with a list of options you can avail. Pet vacations on the other hand, help you find hotels that will accommodate your pet along with you as well arrange export or import of your pet from a different land.

From Taj Vivanta to Four seasons, many small towns and metropolitan city properties have now started adapting to being a pet-friendly hotel. These have also started offering services like vet on call and a custom made menu for your pet.

Taj Vivanta Gurugram offers information on pet grooming salons, veterinary services and pet accessories. “We allow pets only after their owners have submitted their vaccination reports atleast 3 months prior to their stay,” says Jibran Khan, Ibis hotel, Aerocity.

So, take a break with your buddy and explore the country without any hassles.
