Breaking Free Of All Limitations

The spiritual law has been described as seeing divine reality in all manifestation. Religion as spirituality is that advanced state of mind in which peace, felicity, spiritual bliss, large-heartedness, universal love, power, knowledge of self, and satyaguna such as truth, equanimity and cheerfulness become spontaneous and natural. Our thoughts, words and deeds do not remain tied to the limitations of our body, mind and intellect. These become free, in consonance with our unlimited universal Self. Religion should help us directly experience the true reality behind all names and forms in the universe. Vedanta is the ultimate goal of the Vedas. There can be nothing beyond it. Nothing can be higher than this ultimate goal.

The best form of religion is to do away with egoism and to merge with the universal Self to such an extent as to be oblivious of the little self. Not only one particular country but the whole universe shall be benefited through absorption in the Real Self.

The best way to practise religion is to ponder over the elevated and sublime spiritual teachings like those of the Upanishads and the Gita and to practise them in daily life; to be in constant company of spiritually evolved persons, who by their practical wisdom can inspire peace and tranquillity within you; to make sincere effort to remove ignorance and sinful ideas from our hearts; to realise ourselves to be above the body, mind and intellect and shift our mental abode from the desert of worldly attachments and selfish desires to the garden of Reality.

Reality or Atman is an endless ocean in which human beings are like waves. It is all-pervading and omnipresent. To give up limitations of body, mind and intellect is to become all-knowledge, all-bliss and all-energy. When a man submerges his mind, intellect and ego in his desired object, he acquires a state of self-forgetfulness, and is in communion with the One,Atman or the Real Self.To him, the windows of eternal bliss are opened. Such a man becomes omniscient, omnipotent and all-bliss. So long as we are conscious of conditions and limitations, we cannot be one with the Real Self. It is, as if, water, the reality, is hidden under cover of waves or bubbles. Such a man cannot enjoy the bliss, because he is full of ignorance, fear and weakness. Our mind, intellect and ego limit us.We have to rise above them, in order to be really free and to achieve our desired goal, the Atman. When consciousness of individuality is merged with the Atman, man becomes rejuvenated, because in the deep sleep state, the conscious mind and senses are lost and merge into the Atman. It is only in the Atman that one gets real rest or peace.

Simple Rules

Take only simple diet and that too in such quantity as may be easily digested, get enough sleep, take physical exercise regularly, avoid as far as possible, the company of people who may disturb your peace of mind, or who incite enmity or hatred. It is good to have the company of spiritually minded people, otherwise, it is better to remain alone, follow truthfulness in thoughts, words and deeds, be generous in dealings, charitable in disposition and helpful to others in your daily life. All these help us to attain the goal of spirituality.
