Me Club Batter In Front Of Yuvraj: Kohli

BIRMINGHAM: Indian captain Virat Kohli said he "felt like a club batter" when teammate Yuvraj Singh was in full flow during the ICC Champions Trophy match against Pakistan.

Defending champions India started their campaign with a resounding 124-run victory over Pakistan.Kohli and Yuvraj stood out in an all-round batting effort, propelling India to 319 for three after rain halted proceedings twice.

"Yuvi took pressure off when I couldn't get runs. The way he was hitting the ball, I felt like a club batter in front of him," Kohli said at the post-match press conference.

Yuvraj's 53 off 32 balls was full of eye-catching strokeplay and helped India break free from a sluggish phase towards the back end of their innings."The way Yuvi batted, it was the game-changing innings, to be honest," Kohli said after the victory. "That gave all of us the confidence to start striking the ball well." "The way he batted was the way only he can strike the ball," Kohli said. "Hitting low full-tosses for fours and sixes, and even digging out yorkers for fours, was outstanding."

Such is the respect he has for his seniors. Although Virat Kohli is the captain of the Indian cricket team, he hasn''t displayed any snobbishness. I feel that this Indian team will go a long way in the sport. Kudos to the team!

Virat Kohli is such a gentleman, despite having so many responsibilities he never boasts about them. He always takes some piece of suggestion from his senior players like Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni which is indeed a really great quality for a dedicated captain. He not only respects his senior players but also respects his younger players. Hats off, King Kohli!!
