What Is A  Space Western?

Definition: A science fiction story set in space with elements of a Western. 

So what is a western?
Wikipedia defines a ‘Western’ as a genre in which stories are set in the American Old West featuring nomadic cowboys, gunfighters and horses. Theme wise, a Western sci-fi focuses on exploration of a new frontier. This genre is referred to as a Space Western Science Fiction by www.bestsciencefictionbooks.com. 

Setting:
