Books That Deserve Silver Screen Adaptations

While film lovers have approved of the trend of converting books into movies, book worms are still not sure whether they should read the book first or watch the movie. While the debate heats up, here’s a list of books that should perhaps quickly head to the sets...

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
It’s a heart-warming story about two apparent misfits in a stereotypical society. The story encourages us to believe that no matter where and how we begin, the end is something we can mould. It’s a tale of hope, making it the perfect reason to reach the masses. And what better way to do it than convert it into a movie?
Sara Maria Varghese, class X

Let It Snow: Three Holiday Romances by John Green, Maureen Johnson, Lauren Myracle
This love story chronicles the lives of people who believe in love. The authors highlight the power of destiny and how everyone’s lives are interconnected. This book, if turned into a movie, would certainly set the box office on fire.
Aleen Maria Sibi, class X

Deception Point By Dan Brown
A right blend of likeable and detestable characters, and action and intrigue, Deception Point serves the right formula for a filmy feast. It's also well-researched, with the plot developing at neck-breaking speed.
Kumar Ananya, class VIII

Losing my Virginity By Richard Branson
This autobiography of the multibillionaire talks about his intellectual side and his foresightedness. It is an inspiration for youngsters who want to do something different. If adapted into a movie, it would bring a change, inspire and motivate youngsters to chase their dreams.
Parul, class VIII

The Sands of Time By Sidney Sheldon
Set in Spain, this riveting novel tells the story of love, heartbreak and action. This book must be made into a movie because it promises to be an electrifying blockbuster, which will be appreciated by all.
Ankan Chatterjee, class XII
