Coconut Oil To Cure Sore Throat

Winter is here and it calls for some good time and celebrations. Right from enjoying the beauty of misty mornings to the cold breezy evenings, there’s something about winters that we all love! However, along with all the good things, this season also brings with it some unwanted ailments like cold, cough, flu, etc. This is why, it becomes even more essential to strengthen the immunity and metabolism as the bone-chilling cold can often take a toll on your overall health.

One such common seasonal ailment is a sore throat or in simple words the beginning of all seasonal diseases. Hence, if you want to cure it right at the beginning, then this simple home remedy is a must try.

Coconut oil for sore throat
Right from the amazing taste of coconut to its texture to its surprising health benefits, this versatile fruit has been a blessing for mankind. This is simply because of its umpteen health benefits. But did you know that coconut is also great for curing sore throat.
The anti-inflammatory properties of coconut helps in soothing the pain, irritation and harsh feeling of a sore throat. What's more, coconut oil has antimicrobial properties that help in fighting against bacteria, fungi, and several other seasonal viruses.

Here’s how you can use it!
You can use it in several ways to cure your sore throat.
Heat some coconut oil and apply it around your throat. Then cover it with a scarf or a piece of cloth, this helps in absorbing the heat and the process of healing begins.
Then you can also prepare a homemade cough syrup by using some simple ingredients such as coconut oil, honey and lemon. To make it even more effective, you can add some ginger juice as well as some crushed holy basil.

Ingredients:
4 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
½ cupl honey
3 tablespoons coconut oil

* Take a pan over low flame, add all the ingredients together and mix them well. Then allow this mixture to heat. Turn off the flame and store it in an airtight container.
* You can add this syrup to a glass of warm water or green tea. This helps in effectively treating a sore throat and stops the growth of any microorganism to aggravate the condition. 
* You can also take a spoonful of this syrup directly and consume it to cure the soreness and infection.
