Sachidananda Sahu: How Can Railways Become Safer?

Imagine this hypothetical situation. You are travelling by train to your home time or a holiday destination and suddenly the train crashes and injures you or your parents? How will you be saved? Where will you go to receive the first aid?

Recent accidents like a train derailing near Kanpur killing almost 100 peoples have made me cautious of travelling by train. Is this how the railways guarantee safe journeys?  If this carries on, then a few months later no one would prefer Indian railways. I would suggest the government and the railway authorities to provide safe railway journeys to the peoples and provide good facilities in the trains to everyone.

I think It can be safe. With development of good facilities it is also necessary to develop people. The people just used to mes the train even they don''t left the track''s too.By clearing also only we can say railway is good and safe..

I feel that the government should work on this. Instead of fighting on petty issues, politicians who are eagerly contesting elections should give paramount importance to this issue. How can we forget that Indian railways provide us with the cheapest transport system for distant-journeys.

Siddhi Gothivrekar S M SHETTY H SCH - POWAI

rails are an integral part of our transport . people prefer trains most frequently and providing a safe journey is the responsibility of our government''s transport sector . it is their duty to look to it that people don''t suffer because of their negligence . thus ensuring regular repair of the wear and tear of rails becomes an important task and carrying out this task flawlessly is the responsibility of the authority

Yes, If Proper Management and Cleanliness of both Tracks and trains are present ,then our journey will be safe and we can also prevent accidents. I Hope our government would provide better solution for this issue. Good article Sachu, keep it up.

I think tracks should be repaired each year and there should be a limited amount of speed for each train. This may help India to prevent train accidents.

Vaishnoraj Shivan PINNACLE HIGH SCHOOL-MALAD

It is not always about repairing. If you use good quality of material or if you use a different type of technology in these tracks then no accidents will take place. However, maintaining should be must too.
