Prabhleen: How Pursuing Goals Lead To Happiness?

Ever wondered why we wake up every morning? What gives us the energy to set out on our daily monotonous routine? What compels us to get out of bed and perform whatsoever? Well, it is our goals that keep us moving. But why do we pursue these goals? What will we get when we finally fulfill them? Happiness, contentment and sense of accomplishment are the sole drivers of our mind and body. Happiness can be found even in slums, depression is now commonplace in well-off households.

So, materialism is certainly not the answer we are looking for. What is required is the zeal to find it- to set out on the track of attaining the ultimate 'moksha'. So, how can you find happiness? It lies in bargaining with the rikshaw-puller and then letting him win knowing that he struggles to earn his daily bread. It lies in leaving that last piece of chocolate for your little sister. It lies in appreciating your mom after her struggle in the hot kitchen.

Most of all, it lies within your very soul. Happiness is sharing and caring. Sharing not just materialistic possessions but sharing joys and sorrows, tears and laughter, giggles and cries. Professor Dumbledore rightly said, "Happiness can be found in the darkest of times if one only remembers to turn on the light."
