Ishika Jain: Hurtful Truths or Comforting Lies, Which Is Better?

Even when the mind accepts a lie, the body knows the truth. Even though the lies which totally comfort a person momentarily, have the potential to completely ruin the other person's life when the truth comes out and will lead to unavoidable pain.  A truth can make you or break you, only in the end it will save you. Truth can be distressing, but with time it will heal. Lies will not and will lead to guilt in a person. Truth simplifies life and clear conscience, which further leads to a peaceful life.

What's your point of view? What makes you lie? Or hide the truth?

Mostly, it is my emotions that make me lie. I don''t want to hurt anyone, and that''s the reason I many a times twist the fact to make it sound like no big thing n

Bhavana Jaison Atomic Energy Central School No 2

If my lie can be a ladder for some one to climb forward in life and truth can make him stay behind and regret , then i prefer to tell a lie if its helping some one .

Rajathariga S P AECS MAGNOLIA MARUTHI PUB SCH

Telling the truth is always better even if it brings pain. Sometimes we hide the truth thinking we are helping someone by doing so. But when the person comes to know of it, it brings them more pain than it would have if the truth had been told initially.

Archisha Ghosh VIDYA VALLEY

If telling a lie comforts a person, I am ready to say it then. I just do not want to hurt anybody. If lies can let somebody go ahead in future instead of saying the truth and making the person lack behind I will force myself to speak lies!! In today''s world people are going ahead in life by telling lies. It is a human value that is difficult to implement in ourselves!

Masoom Grover BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

Lies generate momentary happiness and pain that''s forever but truth may seem harsh at first instance but can be enduring and satisfying in the long run.

Ritvik Baweja Bal Bharati Public School

I think whenever we feel that we have done something wrong and that it can affect someone,we have the urge to hide the truth. This lie may help us come out of the difficult situation but will affect us in the long run

Khushi Sharma BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

It''s better to hurt someone with a lie rather than comforting them with a lie. But generally people opt to lie instead of telling the truth in order to cheer up the person or with the motive of making the situations better but no matter what one should not leave the path of truth.

Shravan Srinivasan Sri Sankara Vidyalaya East Tambaram

If there is something good going to happen to the people if i tell a lie then ill say it. its given even in thirukkural.
