Balaji Asks: Is India Ready For GST?

Goods and Service Tax is now set up be in reality after a long struggle from 1st July 2017. But, Is India ready for the new taxation? Could Indian industries be able to withstand the new tax? Althogh, GST is good for unification of multiple taxes in India, it still have some major backdrops. Strict acts with many procedures, formats, etc., with huge compliance made it as a nightmare in the minds of Indian businesses.

Do you think the GST would be successfully implemented in our country ?

According to my opinion GST will be successful because this system of one tax will mitigate the confusion and burden of common people. However only time will give the correct answer...

The main problem is not with the different methods, The main problem lies in Implementation. If implemented properly with proper cooperation then GST will only bring smiles rather than tears.

Well, I feel that GST is beneficial and will surely boost the Indian economy in long-run, only if it is implemented properly.

GST should be implemented in India. It depends on how they implement the system. It is very important with lot of advantages.

Syed Hisham Akmal Delhi Public School, Mysore

I just have no answer to it but be my prediction is that it would be successfully implemented. Arun Jaiteley, would hopefully do it well and fair. Well. GST has to be implemented some or the other day, and I believe that India is currently on its recovery from the huge impact made by the demonetization.

L. Hari krishnan Maharishi Vidya Mandir

Once GST is implemented all other direct taxes should be taken away as people can''t bare both GST and direct tax. If the slabs of income taxes are reduced to negligible level people can cope up with GST. But till now 28% is huge for restaurants and entertainment...

Aparna Murugesh Eastern newton school Adimali kerala

It definitely make Bharat succeed if it implementation is in the correct way. Surely Indian industries will be able to withstand the new tax. It still have some major backs but we can overcome these backs if indian business man keep apart their nightmares and stood a step forward for it.

Jithin.R ST.MARY''S CONVENT & PUBLIC SCHOOL (STATE & ICSE)

Implementing such an tax in our huge nation would be little difficult .But this tax would be great for all sectors of society in some aspects but, in manufacturers view such a profit would make them difficult to sell goods all over India at same price they will either increase the price or decrease .

ARSHIA BANDUNI NAGARJUNA VIDYANIKETAN

According to me GST is going to be successfully implemented in India. It is quite beneficial for the country as the tax now will be based on the consumption rather than the production, which will surely be avoiding the double tax getting paid for production too like in the present time. And as it comes to getting used to it and accepting it, we can count on India to be welcoming enough to this major decision too.

Harsh Mittal SAFFRON PUBLIC SCHOOL

gst one nation one tax

Ronit.R National Hill View Public School

I feel that for a large country like India the government should have given more time to the people to gear up for the new tax regime and not taken this decision so hastily .Also the people are still in a state of panic after demonetization rocked the Indian economy .India should have followed suite of countries like Germany and Japan which gave their citizens 12 months to adapt to GST.

Ishita Bajoria Sindhi Model Senior Secondary School

Goods and Services taxes, GST, is a very good move by Indian government. Only if it is executed properly then it will surely bring success. It will take time it will get successfully implemented.
