Ayushi Asks; Has IPL Lost Its Charm?

The India Premier League has kickstarted on a lively note. For cricket lovers, IPL has always been something to savour and exult in. Fans have cried in their team's defeats and rejoiced their team's victories, building a deep-rooted connection with cricket and their favourite stars. As we all know, cricket is followed like a religion in India and there are around 1 crore devotees of this religion. Their fandom keeps the league on. The standard of cricket just keeps on getting better every season.

But somewhere down the line has IPL lost the charisma that it actually possessed when it kickstarted a decade ago? Has the fandom decreased? Is it still the greatest tournament of the country?

What are your thoughts? Do we still follow IPL as crazy fans now that 10 years have been completed since its inception? Voice your opinion below.

yes, i think so that IPL has lost its charm, this can be due to a variety of reasons such as people are engaged in other works or the other reason behind can be the match fixing as now everyone thinks and belives that matches are fixed.so people are losing interest in matches, also in past decades we could hear people burning fire crackers but now it is not same ADITI YADAV Xth Lady Irwin Sr Sec School New Delhi

I don''t agree that IPL has lost its charm, rather it has become more popular with people attending the match in lakhs. Many rich merchants are spending hundreds of crores on buying the players.I do wish that IPL as well as cricket loses its charm and other sports get the chance of becoming popular.I am totally against draining all the sport money in cricket.

Even i also think the same. There was a time when i was a die heart fan of IPL but this year it has not interested me much. Reason may be certain traits and issues that have been raised from last few decades.

I think the charm of has instead increased as people are ready sacrifice their exam study time to watch matches and convertersies can continue but it cannot affectt it''s viewership and fanfare

No, I do not think that IPL has lost its charm as new and more dedicated players have been introduced. People are creating new records that are difficult to break. IPL is the best and it will never get old.

The statement is true because I don''t know why my favourite team RCB has gone so low and the performance of players too is not so impressive.

Don''t worry Rajath. Every cloud has a silver lining. They are my favourites too! RCB will bounce back stronger, harder, better and fiercer. It''s just a matter of time.

Yes but not only IPL the cricket itself has lost its charm which was about not only now . cricket lost its charm on that day only when India was involved in match fixing ,on that day only people started hating cricket
