Aleena: Does Evil Reside In All Of Us?

It disturbed my sleep. I tossed and turned and slept in the wee hours. The alarm was ringing and the bright rays of the sun woke me up. A quick glance at my watch told me I was getting late; I rushed to office. Sharma, my rival, was working hard. Our boss approached us and assigned a project with promises of more remuneration for the one who did good work. I was bent on getting the money. The next day, I saw Sharma working hard and gathering ideas for the project. I kept mine simple. It was the sixth day – I saw Sharma keep the file of the completed project under his table with a smile. As soon as he left the room I took the file and hid it. I dreamt of the extra money though I was not in need of it! The next morning Sharma looked for the file. He asked me if I saw it and I felt like laughing. He was almost in tears and said he needed the money. When Sir called, I submitted my project even as Sharma said his file was missing. Sir scolded him and paid me the extra money. I was delighted.

The next morning, while reading the Sunday newspaper I got a shock. The words "unable to get money for father's surgery, son commits suicide… and without treatment, the father dies" haunted me.  I felt ashamed, I was responsible for two deaths. My action was unpardonable.  I wanted to cry. Yes, prejudice is an evil which turns humans into criminals. Time to kill the evil within you.

Oh my ! I actually lost myself in the story. Yes every one wants to be evil just so they could win in their lives . I accept that life is a race and you''ve gotta run for it . But it doesn''t mean that we should forget the basic principles of humanity .We should never try to play with other lives . Yes there exists a devil within us , and it peeps out and harms others .

Yep... The devil resides in all of us. For instance, when we make a decision, we may be happy with our decision but someone else may not be. It is not possible for us to weed out the evil in us but it is up to us to control it and smother it out.

It is true that we all have bad sides. Yes we want to achieve the world but we mustn''t forget humanity. We must always share what we have.
