Sai Shalini: We're Running Out Of Water, Let's Save It

With ever growing population, the world is coping up with the increased demand for water. Especially in the urban areas where population is increasing day by day, the pressure on water supply is massive. According to a report by the World Resources Institute, there are many countries that will run out of water by 2040.
In India, the situation is no better. A large part of the country only gets water for a few hours daily with many depending entirely on bottled water and tankers for their daily needs. The country has mismanaged its water resources and has failed to provide for their growing population. The cost of water in the country has gone up 30 percent in the last decade due to a shortage of ground water.
Even the people have left no stone unturned to waste water. Now it's upon us to chalk out a plan to save water.

Can you suggest ways in which water can be saved. Suggestions that would really work.

Fine should be charged from the people who are wasting water .

At schools, we should ensure that the students not leave the taps open. Moreover, we should keep a check on the leaking taps and get them repaired as soon as identified. At homes as well we can use the residue water from our purifiers to water the plants. Water should be utilised efficiently not sufficiently.

The best way is to reuse water. Awareness should be spread among people about the importance of water which is a precious resource. No life is possible without water.

Saving water is necessary. Water should be conserved it is only with the hands of people and government. And also people should have the thought in their mind about the future generation in need of water and government should take measures to save water.

SWASTIK AGGARWAL SACHDEVA PUBLIC SCHOOL(PITAMPURA)

Water is the most important element for our survival. Wasting such a treasured element is the ignorance of having plenty of it. We are all responsible for water wastage, therefore we are the only one who can do something to change the present scenario.

Nishi Upadhyay BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

I think that only today''s generation can do this.

Neha Deshkar MONTFORT

Documentary,Animated movies should be made that can promote awareness about water, its present situation.Common people at their homes can check their pipelines, repair leaking taps etc. Aamir Khan started the Paani Foundation which aims at removing water scarcity from villages of Maharashtra, it also involves shramdaan i.e.,involvement of human labour. Competitions should be there among cities for saving water though only one city will win but everyone will be able to save water.

Water is the most important substance to sustain life. Water can only be saved by bringing awareness among the people and launching various campaigns and initiatives to save water.

awareness should be created very strongly around the country....reflecting on the consequences

Snegha.L Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

Certainly water is the primary basis of human survival. I suggest that we can get pure water from plants.Well, plants are the natural Purifier''s given by the nature. As plants absorb water from the soil they remove the impurities in water.Though it is a slow process we people does not take this process into consideration.

T.BLESSIYA BEAUTY Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School - Puducherry

Large campaigns can be done to create awareness among people to save water.Constant check must be done in places like schools, offices to ensure proper usage of water.

B. THANISH VARDHAN PON VIDYASHRAM

DO RAIN WATER HARVESTING , USE BUCKET TO BATH, USE A MUG AND NOT A FLUSH ,

do rain water harvesting

BHARATHY.K Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School - Puducherry

Certainly water is the primary source of all living organisms. It is also very important that nearly 4000 children die every day due to water -related illness. The best way is that to follow rain harvesting system.SAVE WATER SECURE FUTURE .

BHUVANA.V Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School - Puducherry

If harvesting rain water in every home is made mandatory by the government we can make the situation better.

Palaash Agarwal DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL ROHINI

Lets practice more rainwater harvesting. We can collect dripping water in containers until the time the taps are fixed. We can also use the dripping water to water plants as it would evaporate by sun and in the sky water would be collected.Rewards should be given to citizens if they spot any leakages or problems in public containers as it lures many citizens in this process hence saving more water. The water to be thrown can be watered to plants or left in the sun so that it evaporates.

M.kesavapriya Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School - Puducherry

water is just not a resource but a life saving medicine. we don''t want to harvest water but just stop wasting it.

indhuja.r Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School - Puducherry

we must save water.water the most precious resource on earth.but many suffer from water scarcity.the main reason is that people are not aware of the imminent danger.awarness should be created.

Aravindh Ravichandran APEX PON VIDYASHRAM

If we all know the necessity of water,we will never waste even a single of water. So we can save water the future.
