S Shruthi Writes A Strong Piece On 'Being You'

Who do you want to be like, some parents ask. My son is excellent in science. Mark my words, he’s the next Einstein, some others gloat. But how many of you know that Albert Einstein failed in most of his exams. Many of you may be shocked wondering how a student with the lowest grades in all subjects went on to become one of the  greatest scientists the world has ever produced. In fact, Einstein’s brain has been preserved because of his achievements. No, he never chose anyone as his role model. Instead, he explored, discovered, set no boundaries and treated both success and failure equally.

Famous personalities like Dr Abdul Kalam and Sundar Pichai are spoken about only because they never emulated anyone. They simply gained inspiration. An original is always worth more than a copy. Don’t change for the world. Be yourself so that the world will remember the real you. As Swami Vivekananda said, “Talk to yourself once a day. Otherwise you may miss meeting an excellent person in this world.”

It is better to be hated for who you are than being loved for what you are not. So the next time you are asked who do you want to be like, say that you want to be the best of yourself. We were all born unique, so why should we die as an imitation?

Great thought . "I want to be the best of myself" . If this is the thinking of every one then i am sure that there will be a birth of lots of talent . Children will really explored the gem in them and became success . We can see success in each child.

I staunchly agree with your passage. We should have genuine aspirations, and we should portray ourselves in a victorious position. This will boost our morale and self esteem.

Great work! Originality makes one different from the rest.

DIWANSHI SHETIJA BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

Originality is worshiped by the world.Be the real you, because everybody else is taken.Be the one in million and don''t act like a flock of sheep.Even the national and beautiful flower is born in mud similarly we should accept our failures and should enshrine/showcase our talents, capabilities to the world in a verbatim manner. And then the world will remember us even after we leave this mortal world.

Sarath Kumar RM Bethel Mat Hr Sec School

Wonderful lines. Through these lines I understood that I don''t want to become the next Einstein or Kalam or Sundar Pichai but to become myself.

These words are exactly true. When we have anyone as our role model, we try to copy their acts. So its better we be ourselves. We would feel happy, when we love ourselves and our acts too.

I totally agree with you.Well the world loves originality so what''s better option than being you.

Everyone is unique! We should accept our flaws and perfections !

Sharmeen Khan PADUA HIGH SCHOOL-MANKHURD

I totally agree with your provoking words. In a world full of hypocrites being yourself is the greatest accomplishment.

Nishi Upadhyay BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

I think in that race to the top people are really leaving behind who they really are.

Yashita Nagpal BHARTI PUBLIC SCHOOL (SWASTHYA VHR)

We should not forget who we really are and believe in ourselves for ,whatever goal we want to achieve in life is going to be accomplished only with our hardwork.Ideols can be an inspiration but it is should be only us whom we must challenge and improve.
