Ritvik Baweja: Brain Drain Must Stop

Most of us have cousins who have gone abroad and are living the good life. They may have completed class X in India, but have now settled abroad to complete higher studies. My question is: Is it right to leave your own nation to work for someone else? Our teachers, parents and co-workers work day and night to make us better individuals. Is this how we repay them? Where does the feeling of patriotism go when it comes to money? Our greed prompts us to go abroad and earn more there. The brain drain is proving to be a setback for Indian innovation and research. Many scientists and scholars who could have used their talent for India’s betterment have gone to the UK or US just for money. If this trend continues, India will lose all its talented people. It’s my humble request to our pool of talent: The nation needs you. Serve your motherland not someone else’s. Use your skills to enrich this country.

Good work Ritvik, I agree with you. If our IIT graduates'' stick to our soil instead of seeking jobs in US and other countries, our India would have been number one in various invention''s and industrial developments. They complete the course with the government''s money and shows no obligation to our Nation.

I agree. Our country has potential to be the best but our people go to other countries to use it.India can be world no 1 if everybody works for development here
