Neha Vasist Writes On Grandparents

I cherish the precious time I have shared with my grandparents. At present, only my grandmother is with me.

Being the talkative person that she is, my grandmother spills out all her problems, sadness and disappointments in my presence. But, it’s not only the negatives she talks about. She has tomes of childhood memories, my mother’s childhood, her school days and stories about the protective nature of my grandfather.
Each conversation with her reminds me of the hardships she has faced, her extreme will power and tenacity. Each conversation gives me something to learn from her. Her flair for learning new things and ability to handle any kind of situation is what inspires me to be the way I am. Her unmatched courage and strength as a woman have greatly influenced me.
I now understand her much better and can analyse her views, opinions, her past and her ambitions better. We may disagree on things at times but, when we sit for a heart to heart discussion, it’s only our hearts that converse and nothing else.

If we take off our eyes from the 6 inch screen and talk to our grandparents. We will definitely find how experienced and mature they are. A perfect blend of a guardian and a friend. The loveliest feeling is watching your grandparents smile.
