Mitali Kapoor: Laugh As Much As You Can

There’s a popular saying that “Laughter is the best medicine”. But can’t we also say that it’s the essence of life and makes it beautiful. Being able to laugh is one of the best things that one can possess.

Those who can’t laugh will never know the fun it conceals within it. These days, people are so engrossed in their busy lives that they forget to think about themselves and even forget to laugh! Their weary and stressful life is turning them rude, angry, anxious, annoyed and stressed. Ultimately our life is becoming devoid of joy. But this can be cured if a person learns to laugh even in the most difficult situations, and be positive and happy. Laughing out loud not only enhances our appeal, it also heals us physically. It has so many health benefits. It is helpful in reducing stress – a big problem for everyone these days, it often acts as an insulator for our body, it boosts our metabolism and strengthens our immune system which is needed to fight diseases and it’s also a great form of exercise.
It can even protect us from heart attacks and depression. People seem to have forgotten how to laugh. Maybe that’s why there are so many comedy shows and blogs on the internet to make people aware that apart from those expensive and frightening treatments there is a simple, easy and fun cure – laughing out loud, that too free of cost. Laughing is a precious gift which can make us live our lives to its best potential. Even though all is not well in society, nevertheless there are people who are open-hearted, joyful, full of enthusiasm and are happily sharing and spreading their laughter wherever they go. Remember, “Those who can laugh, can face the biggest challenge that is life and those who can laugh, can face the storms in life.”

I strongly agree with you. A person who does not laugh is like a body without soul. Giving someone a cup of joy by passing your contagious smile, can light up your as well as someone else''s day. So, laugh and smile a lot as it costs nothing.
